Alert: a new trailer for the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens will air during halftime in the New York Giants vs Philadelphia Eagles tonight. Not only that, but the entire presentation of the broadcast will be Star Wars themed.

Star Wars during a football game? Well, there are few things that people flip out over more than football and Star Wars, so it kind of makes sense. But also, the game's airing on ESPN which is a subsidiary of Lucasfilm's parent company, Disney

So, Star Wars and ESPN are cousins. Tight? Can we get just one game where the Giants play with Darth Vader helmets on, please?

Tickets will go on sale for the The Force Awakens directly after the trailer airs during halftime, and it opens December 18th.

Not only that, Star Wars fans are getting another early Christmas gift as StarWars.com announced recently a marathon of all seven films in digital 2D going down December 17th.

The marathon will follow the timeline of the Star Wars universe, beginning with A Phantom Menace and culminating with The Force Awakens in 3D.

Yeah, the logistics of this marathon don't quite make sense yet, but if there's any level of fandom that would happily sit through nearly 14 hours of movies, it's definitely Star Wars fans.

Attendees of the marathon will not only get one of the first looks at the complete new film in 3D, but also swag in the form of a lanyard featuring exclusive marathon art.
