It's cold outside. Like, frost on the windows, see our breath, can't wait to get inside and grab a bowl of something warm kind of cold.
Stave away that cold fall chill with a bowl of deliciously warm soup.
On a day like today, there's nothing better than a good bowl of soup to slurp up with a crispy, crunchy baguette.
And since most of us don't have hours of spare time or the necessary skills to create some delicious soup, we've put together a list of the best spots to grab some soup to warm your soul.
1. Soup Spot (220 West 31st Street)
With a daily option of 18 different soups, there's no way you'd be disappointed. And that's an option of 18 out of almost 200 options on their website.
If you're wondering what's on the schedule today, they typically post a picture of today's menu on their Facebook page.
They have a large selection of vegetarian, organic, seafood, or meat options that are sure to warm you up.
2. Peasant Stock (120 Essex Street)
We love small businesses. The Peasant Stock is the perfect little spot on the LES to grab some really incredible soups.
A large soup and bread costs about $8, but it's well worth it. Not feeling some plain ol' bread for your delicious soup? Her cornbread is the perfect substitution.
The soups are made every morning, with the menu posted on Facebook daily, and changes with the available seasonal ingredients.
3. Mama-K's Soup & Salad (761 St. Nicholas Avenue)

This spot has some really delicious soups and salads. Their soups are rotating, and are posted daily on Mama-K's Facebook page.
However, this spot is best for take out, as there is very little seating inside. If you are lucky enough to grab a seat, talk to the staff. They're incredibly friendly and accommodating.
4. La Bonne Soupe (48 West 55th Street)

If you're looking for some soup in a sit-down restaurant, check out the soups at La Bonne Soupe.
This French bistro serves their soups with bread, a house salad, a dessert, and a beverage (house wine, beer, soda, or coffee) for only $21. That's a pretty good deal if you ask us.
We'd go ahead and get the "Soupe a l'Oignon," or "French Onion Soup," with melted gruyere.
Their "Creme Andalouse" is also sure to warm you up on a cold day.
,5. Mom's Cooking (33 East 8th Street)
Vegetarian? You're covered. Gluten Free? Also, covered. Mom's Cooking is a great spot for a rotating soup and stew menu.
Their friendly staff is as heartwarming as the soups. You'll truly feel like you're at home eating your mother's cooking on a cold day.
If you're looking for something to dip into your soup, they offer a selection of delicious sandwiches.
6. Brodo Broth Company (200 1st Avenue)

Okay, okay, we hear what you're thinking. Broth is not exactly soup. But it also, by definition, kinda is.
We really don't care, because the options at Brodo's are incredible, especially on a cold day. They offer three different options of broth including "Hearth," "Organic Chicken," and "Gingered Grass-Fed Beef."
They also offer eight different add ins.
7. Noodle Village (13 Mott Street)
We really love some asian soups. In particular, we're big fans of dumpling soups. And if we're going to get a good dumpling soup, we'd head to Chinatown and grab some soup from Noodle Village.
They have a fairly large selection of soups to try, but we recommend the "Shrimp Dumpling Soup" or the "Oxtail Curry Noodle Soup."
8. Lam Zhou Handmade Noodle (144 East Broadway)
First off, remember to bring cash.
Second, try the noodles. If you've never had hand-pulled noodles, you're missing out, and need to remedy that real quick.
Their beef brisket hand pulled noodle soup is incredible. If you're not a fan of meat, you should try the vegetable soup.
