Imagine if there was a website where you could easily find out everything you need to know about what's going on in your neighborhood? 

Well, stop imagining. Because it officially now exists, and it's called Neighborhoods.NYC.

New York City launched the platform on Wednesday with over 400 domains, one for each neighborhood, like Harlem, Astoria, and the East Village.

It's still in the beta phase, but thus far it's the most helpful thing the City's done since 311. 

Really, it's great. You enter your neighborhood at the top of the page, and boom, you're redirected to the appropriate subdomain.

On that page you'll find weather updates, MTA service changes, info on garbage pick up, public school closure, alternate side parking, and more.

Not only is much of the most necessary information right in one place and easy to find, it's available in 14 languages.

Aileen Gemma Smith, CEO of the civic tech company Vizalytics, who contributed to the project, stated, "A lot of people don't know about the wonderful things the City has to offer. This is trying to put that lens in front of them."

There is a ton of pertinent info on the site, and what's just as good as the info is that it's easy to find and just as easily discernible. New Yorkers can finally forget previous attempts at such a feat, which all fell drastically short.
