Everyone knows New York City has the best food in all the land. If you didn't know, well, you're seriously not keeping up.
So when we heard that TripAdvisor made a list of the 10 best restaurants in the United States of America, we scanned that list without too much trepidation. We were pretty confident we'd find restaurants from our city on it.
Sure enough, lo and behold, three NYC restaurants made TripAdvisor's list.
That means that 30% of TripAdvisor's best U.S. restaurants are in NYC. Which, like, isn't a big deal or anything. Obviously.
What restaurants made the cut, you're wondering? Great question. Read on to find out not only which restaurants made the elusive list, but what you should order at each.
1. Bouley (163 Duane Street)
Here it is. The moment you've all been waiting for. TripAdvisor did, in fact, name Bouley the best restaurant. In all of America.
If you eat at Bouley, you'll understand why. They'll push a bread cart around the restaurant with tons of bread selections at least twice throughout your meal. We've got to shout out the chocolate-walnut spiced bread.
Another tidbit is that dinner at Bouley is prix fixe. So you'll pay $125 for three courses, and you'll leave satisfied out of your mind. Our favorite dishes here are the porcini crab flan and the foragers mushrooms with toro.
They also have a pretty excellent lunch special, in which you pay $55 for five courses.
What you must try: The rabbit salad. We get it, rabbits are cute and you feel bad. Once you've tried rabbit meat, though, you won't feel that way. Rabbits are a luxurious version of chicken, and you'll get hooked. Like, even if Elmer Fudd never killed the wabbit, we know that his heart was in the right place.
2. Le Bernardin (155 West 51st Street)
m0mmyeats Another 3 Michelin stars under my belt. We've got one word to describe this French restaurant on West 51st Street, which ranked in at third on TripAdvisor's list. One word, three syllables: fab-u-lous.
Le Bernardin's been tempting customers for nearly 30 years with delicacies like their lacquered lobster tail, King Fish caviar, and golden blueberries with sweet corn meringue. Their service is well choreographed, and the precision of their wine pairings will knock your socks off.
The've also got a prix fixe, where you'll get $140 for four courses. Should you try the tuna tartare? Well, it's diced into small cubes and basically melts in your mouth, so you tell us. Their carrot soup's filled with bits of crab, and their scallops are delicious.
Come to Le Bernardin and you'll be sure to have your life changed. We can just about guarantee it. Like, their sea bass is cocked to the consistency of a perfect chicken breast. While eating, you might wonder whether you've died and gone to tastebud heaven.
What you must try: The tuna carpaccio with foi gras will probably be the best thing you've ever eaten.
,3. Daniel (60 East 65th Street)
fabianagoncalvez Simplesmente maravilhoso!!!Até hoje na minha vida de comilanças,sabor igual só no Olympe @c_troisgros! #newyorkcity #danielnyc #danielrestaurant #danielboulud #scallops #lobster #eat #eaaat #eatnyc #eatwell #foodgasm #foodie #foodporn #Foodlover #foodstagram #eattolive
This Upper East Side restaurant is stunning in its decor, and if you go, it'll unquestionably be one of the best meals you've ever had.
It earned the ninth spot on TripAdvisor's list, and for good reason. Your several servers (yes, you'll have several) will suggest the absolute precise wine pairings for your meal.
They've got delicious cocktails, so many kinds of potatoes your head will spin (our favorite is the salmon chunk with fried purple potato), and white, tender abalone that's so flavorful and creamy, it'll completely blow you away.
Can we talk about the dessert for a second, please? They've got amuse, canapes, petit fours, madeleines, and an assortment of chocolate. It's all worth every calorie, and Daniel is well worth its price.
What you must try: The sea scallops are cooked and seasoned perfectly, and will be the freshest you've ever tried. They're served with a broccolini side that will rock your world.
