New York City has no shortage of parties on a daily basis. But major holidays like Halloween put us over the top. We have world-class events going on left and right. Lots of them are pretty affordable too, because nobody should have to pay too much to have a great time.
So we're throwing down 10 more Halloween events not to miss. They used to be just for kids. But now those kids have grown up (sort of) and they're packing out some of the most whimsical get togethers all year.
Yes, there's nothing like Halloween. It's everyone's best excuse all year round to really let their freak flag fly...
And it's not just for individuals. Halloween is a time when businesses, theaters, schools, even churches get dolled up to scare the hell out of you, or at least participate in the spooky vibe with some tongue in cheek frights.
1. Green-Wood Cemetery & Catacombs Tour By Flashlight (500 25th Street)

Brooklyn's Green-Wood Cemetery is offering a special access tour once the property is closed to the public for the night.
For $25 you can explore the cemetery and 19th century vault catacombs lit by what else-- flashlight. You're strolling through hundreds of years of dead people basically in the dark. Perfect. Go. This week. Here. You're welcome.
2. Blood Manor 2015 (163 Varick Street)
Blood Manor is the East Village's premiere haunted house and it's going on for over half of October, so don't worry about missing out on something else on the night of Halloween, but it is open for Halloween of course.
There are regular tickets and special "RIP" tickets that speed up the process by allowing you to skip lines, going on October 15-31st. It's going to be dope. You should go.
3. Sleepy Hollow the Musical (115 MacDougal Street)

It used to be huge on me so I was hoping it would fit as our production is trying to find a costume. Needless to say we found the costume and it is no longer to big for me. Everyone knows the legend of Sleepy Hollow. Ichabod Crane, the Headless Horseman, Katrina Von Tassel, a doomed love triangle and a creepy jack-o-lantern.
Now it's a musical performed at The Players Theatre in the Village. They're on stage October 16-18, 23-25, 30 & November 1st, 6th and 7th. It's $35 everyday and perfect for the season. Our main question is how are they going to pull off the famous chase scene on a stage? Only one way to find out...
4. Dracula Immersive Theatre (165 West 86th Street)

Immersive theatre can be incredible, or just aggravating. Sometimes an entire play based on breaking the fourth wall just isn't called for. But nearing Halloween, an immersive take on Bram Stoker's Dracula is exactly what's called for.

If you've ever wondered to cabaret or not to cabaret, the answer should be to cabaret. While cabarets can take the form of almost anything, from a magic show to a Christmas party, somehow Halloween feels like the most appropriate holiday except for maybeValentine's Day. Maybe, but probably not.

7. NYC Haunted History Tour (54 Pearl Street)

This is the only room in the entire (presumably haunted) early 19th century house that felt heavy or affected. It's not a bar crawl, but they do keep you deep in cocktails at the NYC Haunted History Tour. It's a walking tour throughout some of the City's ghoulish locations, where seedy deeds have been going down for centuries.
It's happening October 30th in the Financial District, where we well know evil lives today, and takes you all around for only $20. Of course, it's 21+, so go already.
8. Fall Ball Masquerade (202 East 77th Street)
This is a seriously legit masquerade ball. The bar is set pretty high with the Fall Ball Masquerade, as attendees are generally dressed to the nines. This isn't a "throw on a mask and call it a costume" type of affair.
It's going down Saturday, October 24th and tickets are $100. Seem steep? Well, that's partially because there's a 6-hour long open bar. So weigh your options. Do you want to wear normal clothes and pay more than that for less drinks in the same places you always party? We didn't think so.
9. Village Halloween Parade & Silent Disco (32 Watts Street)
At Circa Tabac in SoHo there will be a Quiet Clubbing event overlooking the Village Halloween Parade. Pretty dope.
There are only two channels this time, but hey, that's a 50/50 chance your bumping the same tunes as whatever ghoul you're rubbing up on.

Motivo's hosting one of this year's most killer Halloween parties in Flatiron. Music includes chart toppers, hip hop and trap.
Now what kind of a club would it be without VIP? Of course, there are VIP tickets available. They're $10 more than the $15 regular tickets. Not too bad! No reason not to go.
