New Yorkers are notorious for being inside headphones as much as possible for a variety of reasons. The first of which is to discourage undesirables from approaching. 

But really, wouldn't you rather be listening to The Weeknd instead of subway noise? Us too.

Now headphones have invaded the club scene. The trend has been going on for at least a few years: Quiet Clubbing. 

You may have run into similar businesses at summer music festivals. Often the latest of late night sets involve the fun new tech due to noise constraints. Seriously. It's great. You need to try it some time.

The idea is that each clubber gets a pair of wireless headphones and you choose which channel you want to listen to. Some of them have LED lights to correspond with the channel, so you can scope out who's got the same vibe as you.

But truthfully, it's more interesting to dance with people listening to different stuff than you.
