Brace yourselves for some shocking news, New Yorkers: we like booze.
Even better? When booze is incorporated with baked goods and chocolate.
Dessert is always overlooked. Whether it's because people are dieting or just over-stuffing themselves on their main courses, it's always passed over for the check.
We're here to tell you you're making a huge mistake skipping the best meal of the day.
These spots have the right idea: they've combined baked goods and chocolates with booze. Whether a fully stocked bar, wine/beer/cocktail pairing, or just plain boozy desserts, we're fans.
Here are our favorite boozy bakeries and wine & dessert bars in New York City.
1. Sweet Revenge (62 Carmine Street)
So to start off, this place has breakfast, brunch, lunch, and small plates. That's not including the sweet treats they offer OR the stocked bar serving wine, beer, and cocktails.
Their main draw? Their wine and beer pairings with either cupcakes, cheesecakes, cakes, or cookies. For example, grab one of their "Dirty" cupcakes with Valrhona chocolate and dark chocolate truffle paired with Principato Pinot Noir from Italy.
Get your baked buzz on during their happy hour from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays.
2. Prohibition Bakery (9 Clinton Street)
If you're looking for the booze to be baked directly into your sweets, check out Prohibition Bakery. First off, you have to be over 21 to even enter the shop, because liquor laws. That pretty much already ensures that you can get a buzz off of these baked treats.
Their flavors change seasonally, so you can find a new favorite every couple of months. Try their "Car Bomb" cupcake with whiskey, Bailey's, stout, and chocolate, or their "Old Fashioned" with whiskey, bitters, orange, and a whiskey soaked cherry.
They also make boozy rumdrops. Their current flavor is "Hurricane," with spiced bourbon and heavy cream.
3. Cocoa Bar (various locations in NYC)

"Crepes."
As in nutella and banana crepes. That's just the beginning.
This café and wine bar serves plenty of goodies and cocktails. For example they have a wine and chocolate pairing.
Check this place out during their happy hour from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Happy hour beers are $3 and wine is only $5. That leaves you plenty of money left to try their spicy brownies or flourless chocolate cake.
4. Chikalicious (various locations in NYC)

Want an dessert bar with an awesome wine selection? Have a first date coming up that loves booze and sweets? Take 'em to dinner, then skip dessert and come here instead.
For $16, you can have an amuse (small pre-main-course treat), a choice of dessert, and petits fours (little bit sized desserts). Add on a wine pairing for another $9.
Their desserts change with the season, so you can always expect fresh, creative elements that are sure to please every tastebud you've got. They also have a pretty dope wine list to pair your treats with.
If you're more of a cheesehead, they have a selection of cheeses served with an herb biscuit and date puree.
5. The Chocolate Room (various locations in Brooklyn)
This little spot is perfect for anyone, including the kiddies. They have both non-alcoholic and alcoholic desserts and drinks.
We're big fans of Brooklyn Brewery and apparently The Chocolate Room is too.
They use Brooklyn Brewery's "Black Chocolate Stout" with their own vanilla ice cream for their "Black Chocolate Stout Float." But you can also use a scoop of their homemade ice creams with their seasonal chocolate stouts for a festive option.
6. Ayza Wine and Chocolate Bar (various locations in NYC)
So if you love chocolate as much as we do, you've probably heard the name Jacques Torres. That's because he's a pretty talented celebrity chocolatier known as "Mr. Chocolate." You probably want the chance to eat some of his creations while sipping on a "Strawberry Chocolate Martini."
You can fulfill your dream at Ayza Wine and Chocolate Bar. We recommend trying the "Bin 27 Port Truffle" with Taylor Fonseca Bin 27 Port infused in dark chocolate.
If you're not feeling the chocolate truffles, try their "Twenty-layer Crepe Cake Brûlée," which is a crepe cake that is brûléed and served with whipped cream.
They also serve lunch and dinner, so if you're looking for a fun date with your friends, this is the place to hit up.
