One cool thing to do during the fall is to visit some art exhibitions. New York City is an exciting place that is filled with so much diversity, art and culture.
Lucky for you we have saved you the hassle (because we know you are lazy) and have hooked you up with 11 awesome exhibitions happening this fall that you won’t want to miss!
1. “Misfits,” Rich Simmons (October 2nd - October 18th)

Award Winning British Artist Rich Simmons, left a successful mark displaying his show last year at the SoHo Contemporary Art.
If you missed his first show no worries, there’s still time for you to learn more about this cool artist since he just unveiled a second show this year entitled, “Misfits.”
Combining a sense of humor with different styles and themes, “Misfits,” showcases pop culture visuals and iconic superheroes such as Batman and Superman.
2. "Honeymoon," Yves Scherer (October 3rd - November 8th)

Harry Potter die-hard fans don’t you dare miss this! Swiss Artist Yves Scherer is known for taking a “post-internet art” approach in his work.
His "Honeymoon" exhibition at the Swiss Institute focuses on the psychological and behavioral effects that technology has on our identity and society.
In order to achieve this, the artist uniquely implements pop culture references, photography, and celebrity imagery such as that of Emma Watson.
3. "Greater New York" (October 11th - March 7th)

This Greater New York arrives, however, in a city and art community that has changed dramatically since the first version of the survey. Against this backdrop, Greater New York will depart from the show’s primary focus on youth, instead examining key points of connection and intersection between emerging and more established artists across New York, while also exploring aspects of earlier histories of the city itself, and its changing political, social, and architectural fabric. Bringing together emerging and more established artists, the exhibition occupies MoMA PS1’s entire building with over 400 works by 157 artists, including programs of film and performance.
The “Greater New York” exhibition at the MoMA PS1 concentrates on the budding artists living and working in the metro area of New York.
“Greater New York” also examines the essential points and aspects of the history of the city as well as the current developing conditions on the architecture, social and political arenas.
4. "Greene Street Mural" (September 10th - October 17th)

Gagosian Gallery features the imitation of American pop artist Roy Lichtenstein’s original 1983-84 Greene Street Mural.
Now, you are probably wondering, "Yo, what’s so exciting about a knock off if ain’t the real thing?" Well, Litchtenstein’s original was intentionally destroyed at the end of the exhibition back in 1983 at the Leo Castelli Gallery (which was then located at 142 Greene Street).
So, basically this is the closest way in which you’ll get to experience the Greene Street Mural in 2015. We know…oh #whatatimetobealive!
5. "Campbell’s Soup Cans and Other Works," Andy Warhol (April 25th - October 18th)

Currently MoMA is featuring Andy Warhol’s signature work, "Campbell’s Soup Cans" which we are sure you’ve seen everywhere, but a graphic t-shirt from Forever 21 doesn’t count.
Plus, for the very first time, MoMA is displaying the 32 Soup Cans on a line rather than a grid.
6. "On Our Hands," Shepard Fairey (September 18th - October 24th)
Jacob Lewis Gallery is presenting "On Our Hands," an exhibition of new paintings by Shepard Fairey.
This will be the first solo exhibition of Fairey’s paintings in New York City since 2010.
The paintings embody the contemporary issues of political corruption and the abuse of power.
,7. "Submerged" (August 5th - December 31st)

Experience the life of a sub-pilot at “Submerged,” an interactive and educational exhibition at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.
"Submerged" complements the museum's submarine Growler, the only American missile submarine open to the public.
"Submerged" gives you the opportunity to explore and navigate a submarine with an engine room, sleeping bunks and so much more!
8. “Flores en Fuego,” Jet Martinez Solo Exhibition (October 8th - October 31st)
San Francisco based artist, Jet Martinez is presenting his first solo exhibition in New York City at the Joseph Gross Gallery.
“Flores en Fuego” (Flowers on Fire) is a showing of three new art murals from Martinez that reveal beautiful bold colors and rhythmic floral patterns.
9. "Picasso & The Camera" (October 28th - January 3rd)

This exhibition at the Gagosian Gallery explores how Picasso utilized photography as a source of inspiration and the ways he applied it to his studio life.
The viewing includes a plethora of never before seen photographs, paintings, sculptures, drawings, films, and prints.
10. “Art, Garden, Life,” Frida Kahlo (May 16th - November 1st)
Encounter an exhibition that is keen to the work life of Frida Kahlo at the New York Botanical Garden. Many of her works included her appreciation for beauty, nature and culture.
“Art, Garden, Life” celebrates Kahlo’s artistic work ethic and re-models her private garden in Mexico City. As Khalo once wrote, “I paint flowers so they will not die.”
As you can see, it's been up since May, but if you haven't checked it out since then, there's no better time than now.
11. “Along the Way,” KAWS (June 10th - December 6th)

Brooklyn-based artist KAWS is known for designing a balloon for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and also for creating the 60-foot moonman that graced the stage on the MTV Music Awards back in 2013 at the Barclays Center.
This time around he's taken over the Brooklyn Museum, well since the summer ― with this 18-foot high sculpture of his iconic Companion figures.
