John F. Kennedy Airport is not known for being a wonderful place. 

It's a transportation hub, and just like Penn Station, nobody's trying to stand around smelling the roses. 

Mostly, people are trying to get through security, pick up or drop off their luggage, board the plane or get the hell out of there without losing their kids or their minds. 

But one terminal in particular draws as many photographers as the skyscrapers: the TWA Flight Center. 

A masterpiece of style and design by Eero Saarinen, the TWA terminal looks more like it's there to launch rocket ships than airplanes. 

Now this year's Open House New York, a great program designed to open the doors of the most architecturally impressive albeit private spaces around New York City to the public, will be hosting perhaps everyone's last chance to check out the TWA Terminal before it's redeveloped.
