Get Those Bucket Lists Out: 11 Spots to Bar Crawl Your Way Through Manhattan This Weekend

Have you ever wondered what it'd be like to walk the entire island of Manhattan?

We're talking a whole day of walking. From Washington Heights all the way down to South Street Seaport. We're talking 11 bars, two or three drinks in each. We're talking about getting a buzz early in the morning, and keeping it going all day long.

Google Maps says the walk from Washington Heights to South Street Seaport will take you three hours and 23 minutes. Since we're going to have you stop in 11 bars on the way, it's going to take you much longer.

Seriously, dedicate an entire Saturday or Sunday to this bar crawl. If you want to start at South Street Seaport, just start from the bottom of the list and work backwards.

Who needs to pay to participate in the New York City Halloween PubCrawl, when you can just run your own for free? Especially since we've curated it for you.

Read on to see what bars to drink in during your wild bar crawl day, in which you'll walk the entire island of Manhattan.

1. Buddha Beer Bar (4476 Broadway)

tender_buttons Not so quiet Sunday afternoon. #beer #buddhabeerbar #football

This beer bar is possibly one of the coolest places to chill in the Heights, and the perfect place to begin our day-long bar crawl.

They've got an unlimited weekend brunch for $25, in which you get to choose one course and bottomless Bloody Marys, Mimosas, Sangrias, or Screwdrivers.

If you're not looking to get that aggressive, choose one of their delicious brunch entrées, like their egg wrap, omelette, or huevos rancheros. You're going to be doing a lot of walking today, and you'll need to be satiated.

Have a drink with brunch! That's an order.

2. Heights Tavern (3910 Broadway)

After Buddha Beer Bar, we'll take a half hour walk down to Heights Tavern. We told you you'd be doing a lot of walking!

Traverse the terrain from West 190th Street down to West 164th Street. We hope you're buzzed for this walk!

In addition to a solid variety of beer, wine, and cocktails, at Heights Tavern, they've also got plenty of delicious bar food, sandwiches, salads, and wraps.

We meant it when we said they had a solid variety of beer, too. We meant nearly 50 beers to choose from. Try something new, why don't you?

3. Harlem Public (3612 Broadway)

This walk is much less severe than the first walk you took. Hike the 15 minute downtown walk from West 163rd to West 149th; all down Broadway.

The avocado fries at Harlem Public can make believers out of anyone, if you're hungry from all that walking. They've also got peanut butter burgers that are known to change lives if you're ready for lunch by the time you get here.

The bartenders at Harlem Public are fun and energetic, and will make you some of the most delicious drinks you've ever tried. It's also not overly expensive here, which is excellent. They've also got dreamy tater tots, a delicious pulled pork sandwich, and an extensive beer list.

4. Harlem Tavern (2153 Frederick Douglass Boulevard)

farukko33 Restaurant à New York dans le quartier de Harlem , je le recommande vivement #harlem #harlemtavern #newyorkcity

Harlem Tavern is a half hour walk downtown from Harlem Public. Saddle yourselves in for some exercise!

They've also got a pretty excellent brunch scene, if you haven't brunched by the time you've gotten here. Their lamb burger changes up the game, and the juicy pulled pork with coleslaw is also worth checking out.

The crowd and energy at Harlem Tavern is exactly what we're going for on this turned-up day. The music is great, and the crowd and vibe are happy. They've also got outdoor picnic seating.

5. Dive Bar (732 Amsterdam Avenue)

Dive Bar is exactly what we want it to be for this weekend bar crawl. It's a half hour walk downtown from Harlem Tavern and it's got the largest selection of beer on the Upper West Side. Buckle in for some serious exercise!

The beers at Dive Bar are amazing. It's also known for poutine, healthy kale dishes, salads, and lots and lots of beer.

Here's what you'll find at Dive Bar. It's got pub grub, plenty of flat screens, cheap pitchers of beer, and sidewalk seating to enjoy the splendor of a crisp fall afternoon.

6. Jake's Dilemma (430 Amsterdam Avenue)

This fifteen minute walk will take you the fifteen blocks from West 96th Street to West 81st, to visit Jake's Dilemma.

Jake's Dilemma's got beer, booze, food, sports, and dope music. It's of the same breed as other notorious NYC party bars like Hair of the Dog, Down The Hatch, and The Stumble Inn.

They've got 14 beers on tap and 50 different kinds of bottled beer to choose from. Keeping your buzz going strong at Jake's Dilemma should be a relatively easy task.

7. Gabriel's Bar and Restaurant (11 West 60th Street)

Now, we've made our way even further downtown. The walk from Jake's Dilemma to Gabriel's Bar and Restaurant will take you about 25 minutes. Fewer if you run, but be careful of cars.

Gabriel's Bar and Restaurant is terrific, and will provide you with a delightful time for the two or three drinks you're there. It's right off Columbus Circle, so you won't be able to miss it.

They've also got delicious food, with delectable lamb tortilini and soups and salads. You will have to cough up a pretty penny to eat here, though, so we'd suggest downing a couple drinks and jetting.

8. Stout (133 West 33rd Street)

humbuginyc Plats fixad! Nu är det bara en 6-8 timmars väntan på The Mauler! #ufc192 #stoutnyc #hype #alexthemauler #youcandoit

Midtown, yuck! Luckily, we found a bar in Midtown that actually doesn't suck. It's a half hour walk downtown from Gabriel's Bar and Restaurant.

Stout has a lovely interior, with cobblestone floors, stone walls, and a super high ceiling. It's also got plenty of little tables with plenty of little stools for you to rest after all your walking. They've also got something for everyone, with premium whiskies, plenty of beer,

They've also got flights of beer, so you can sample a whole bunch. That sounds pretty great, doesn't it?

9. White Horse Tavern (567 Hudson Street)

jeffphughes A certain kind of Mecca when I go to NY #WhiteHorseTavern

White Horse Tavern is the historic bar outside of which Dylan Thomas died, and someone wrote "go home Jack," on the wall of a bathroom stall because Jack Kerouac went so often.

It's also a perfect next destination on our bar crawl. It's another half hour walk downtown from Stout, but you can do it! We believe in you.

The White Horse Tavern's got cheap drinks, fantastic bartenders, and reasonable food. They've also got a $7 shot-and-beer deal, which is exactly what you'll need for the nearing end of this epic bar crawl.

10. Hair of the Dog (168 Orchard Street)

hairofthedognyc College Football Saturdaaaaaaays!!! #ifyourenothereyourenowhere #youcansitwithus #les #nyc #hairofthedognyc #hotdplacetobe

It's a half hour walk from the White Horse Tavern and it's one of the bars in NYC with the most popped off party scene.

It's the perfect place for you and your crew to wild'n out at the tail end of this crazy bar crawl. They've got half-priced beers all day on Sunday and dollar drafts from 8-9 p.m. on Saturdays.

They've also got beer pong tables, and amazing food. In general, Hair of the Dog has cheap drinks and a rowdy vibe. Get stoked, you're almost done!

11. South Street Seaport (19 Fulton Street)

new_yorkats Good morning #sunrise #NYC #southstreetseaport #brooklynbridge #eastriver #manhattanbridge

We made it! You deserve a celebratory beer for this accomplishment. Are you one of the only people in NYC who got a ton of exercise while partying super hard in the city today? Probably.

Lounge in their outdoor seating watching people milling around, gazing at the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Titanic Memorial Lighthouse. Enjoy a few delicious beers. The beers are even more delicious because, you know, you just walked 10 miles.

Now, take a cab home you tired thing, you. Revel in the enjoyment that you just walked 10 miles, and did so while getting completely blasted. Good work!
