Hello, New York City. How's sweater weather treating you? Have you been slowly weaning all your boots, long pants, and yes, sweaters, back into your wardrobe rotation? We certainly have.

We've also been having a blast drinking hot beverages, fantasizing about apple picking, and gazing all around at the fall foliage. 

We can't really think of a better way to spend this week than attending horror plays, maneuvering your way through a Staten Island corn maze, and eating slices on slices of pizza at Slice Out Hunger on Wednesday.

The point is, this week is gonna' be dope, ending with a bangin' party hosted by spoiled, Tablelist, and Fat Joe on Friday. It also includes the New York Film Festival, the Nightmare Horror Show, and of course Boo at the Zoo on Saturday.

Monday, October 5th

1. New York Film Festival

October is film festival month, and the New York Film Festival is one of the dopest. It'll run until October 11th at the Film Society of Lincoln Center.

It's the 53rd edition of the famed festival, and during its 17-day duration it highlights the best films produced worldwide. Featured filmmakers are everyone from the world's most celebrated filmmakers to fresh new talent.

Tuesday, October 6th

2. Yankees Playoff Game

The Yankees made the playoffs, and things are about to get wild. Especially if you take yourself and your friends out to the ball game.

Prospects for victory may look tough, as the Yankees have lost six of their last seven games, but we've got to have faith.

"Whether you lose seven out of 10 or you win seven out of 10, on Tuesday you're still zero-zero," Alex Rodriquez told ESPN.

That said, we're very stoked that everyone starts the playoffs with a clean slate. Come see the Yankees take on the Houston Astros at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday evening. The game starts at 8:08 p.m., and you can get tickets using your best bud Seatgeek, here.

Wednesday, October 7th

3. Slice Out Hunger (115 Sullivan Street)

It's not a secret that we have the best pizza on the planet.  It's also pretty common knowledge that we can acquire greasy, delicious pizza sustenance for just a dollar on any day of the week.

Now, at Slice Out Hunger, you can sample more than 50 of NYC's best pizzerias under one roof for a dollar per slice. It's NYC's biggest pizza party, and if you're in any way pizza crazed, you've got to be a part of it.

The whole thing is dedicated to supporting hunger relief initiatives by fundraising through the Pizza Industry. Which is a pretty incredible way to enjoy NYC's best dish. 

To attend, all you've got to do is buy a $1 ticket with exact change as you enter the event. You'll have to exchange dollar bills for RED tickets, which you can exchange for slices of pizza and BLUE tickets, which you'll exchange for drinks, desserts, and raffles.

Basically, we recommend bringing a lot of one dollar bills.

4. Nightmare Horror Show (107 Suffolk Street)

The Nightmare Horror Show combines everything perfect about Halloween in NYC; scary horror performance with immersive theater. We're pretty confident a show this terrifying and artistically brilliant wouldn't happen in any other city.

If you love horror shows and you absolutely love theater, you need to be here. We're also pretty sure this would be a great date night, because of the whole being scared and therefore wanting to hold hands thing.

The performances go down at The Clemente and it's put on by Psycho Clan. Each evening of this event includes two or three horror works. Tickets are $25 and you can get them here.

Friday, October 9th

5. Fat Joe @ Bounce Sporting Club

Do your people not dance, they just pull up your pants, and do the rockaway? Yeah, same.

On Friday October 9th we're throwing down one of our epic, legendary parties with Tablelist. Fat Joe will in fact be in attendance, and this just in, he isn't fat anymore.

Saturday, October 10th

6. Boo at the Zoo (2300 Southern Boulevard - Bronx)

Let's keep the Halloween celebrations going strong all through October, shall we?

One of NYC's favorite zoo traditions is Boo at the Zoo, held annually at the Bronx Zoo.

Come by for music, magic, and of course the animals. The Bronx Zoo will have a Jack O’Lantern Illumination,  a maze of 1,000 hand-carved and beautifully lit Jack O’Lanterns in World of Darkness through which you can wander.

Their pumpkins will be carved into the shapes of creepy and crawly bugs, bats, hawks, vipers, eels, and more. They’ll also have costume parades on afternoons from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and then again from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

They’ve also got a hay maze, located at their butterfly pad and open on weekends from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. See if you can find your way out.

7. Pumpkin Picking, Corn Maze & Wine Tasting, Oh My! (October 10th)

Are you yearning for some fall action? You know what we mean by fall action. We mean a little drinking, a little pumpkin picking, and a lot of high intensity navigating corn mazes.

Thankfully, TailBus has that covered. On October 10th from 10:10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. they'll offer you no-hassle transportation from Union Square to the Harbes Family Farm, a fall paradise, on Long Island.
