Amy Ruth's is renowned for their chicken and waffles. The chicken and waffles here are off the chain.
The chicken is juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside and the waffles are fluffy and just the right amount of sweet.
All in all, Amy Ruth’s has some great chicken and waffles. If you’re feeling extra hungry, we’d suggest ordering some mac and cheese as well because it is delicious.
2. Buttermilk Channel (524 Court Street - Brooklyn)
The waffles here come with powdered sugar and it takes the chicken and waffles to the next level.
This place is small, it seats about fifty people, and it can fill up quickly, so plan accordingly. Also, they don’t take reservations for less than six. But, who cares, the chicken and waffles are worth it.
You probably won’t still be hungry after the chicken and waffles, but if you are the pecan pie sundae is phenomenal.

5 & Diamond has some chicken and waffles with banana-habanero syrup. The waffles come with the syrup already on them and the chicken on top.
The syrup isn’t very spicy even with the habanero, but it’s still super tasty.
So, these chicken and waffles are delicious, but don’t expect the syrup to be spicy or else it will leave you disappointed.
But who needs spicy syrup when you have super crispy chicken and a soft, fluffy waffle?
4. Clinton Street Baking Company (4 Clinton Street)
Clinton Street Baking Company has some amazing chicken and waffles.
The chicken comes with honey-tobasco sauce and the crispy vanilla waffle comes with their signature maple butter that will make you seriously considering ordering a second helping.
This sweet and salty combination is to die for and the spiciness of the honey-tobasco sauce takes this delicious dish to the next level in the NYC chicken and waffles hall of fame.

The chef at this restaurant was on Top Chef, so obviously he’s sweet at cooking. He adds an Asian twist to chicken and waffles with the Kung Pao chicken wings and waffles dish.
These spicy hunks of chicken and crispy waffles are a deadly combination that are amplified by coconut brown butter syrup.
This syrup is some of the best syrup we’ve ever had. It’s like an explosion in your mouth.
Unfortunately, they only serve it at brunch, but the fact that it’s not always accessible, just makes it that much better. It’s like pumpkin beer. The availability, or lack thereof, increases its value.
6. Distilled (211 West Broadway)
So, this isn’t technically chicken and waffles because the chicken is switched out with country fried duck, but we’re willing to forgive because this meal is unbelievable.
From the french-toast style waffle to the smoked chili maple syrup this dish is phenomenal.
We highly suggest slathering this thing in the whipped honey butter, because that stuff is incredible and makes the already succulent chicken and waffles even better. We highly suggest checking this place out for an interesting and delicious take on chicken and waffles.

The fried chicken and waffle sandwich at Sweet Chick is unbelievable. This sweet and spicy sandwich comes with a bourbon molasses glaze, crisp and spicy jalapeños, and a black eyed pea spread.
It comes with fries or a salad and the fries are crazy tasty.
All in all, this fried chicken and waffle sandwich is super messy to grub on, but it’s worth the clean up because this is one of the best takes on chicken and waffles in NYC.
