This city has so many great restaurants that are just begging to be discovered...and they deserve to be.
You probably don't have the time to try them all, so we're here to give you a small sliver that you just have to cross off your NYC bucket list.
You'll probably end up adding them to your weekly rotation after your first bite. Eat up!
1. Northern Spy Food Co. (511 East 12th Street)

This casual little spot in the East Village is the perfect place if you like food. Who are we kidding, there is not a person on this earth who doesn't like food. Therefore, Northern Spy Food Co. is the perfect spot for anybody and everybody, even if you're a nobody (you're not a nobody to us!).
If you and your BFFs are looking for a new spot and are pretty serious about some flavorful cuisine, you need to check out this hidden gem. It serves brunch, lunch, and dinner.
Northern Spy Food Co. is the perf spot for your post yoga brunch with your besties. If you're worrying about your waistline, grab a kale salad. If you aren't, get a side of beef fat fries or the corn beef hash.
2. Piadina (57 West 10th Street)
There's a lot of Italians in NYC. We have quite a few in our office. We love our mother's pasta gravy and look forward to Sunday night dinners. New Yorkers, as a whole, know good Italian food when we taste it.
Well, we've tasted it here. Piadina has some pretty dope, authentic Italian food. Try the rigatoni alle melanzane e ricotta (or rigatoni with eggplant and ricotta) or the vegetali alla griglia con piadina e caprino (or piadina bread with grilled vegetables and goat cheese).
This cute little spot is perfect for a romantic evening with your significant other, where you can enjoy both the company and the food.
3. Parm (various NYC locations)
We've talked about Parm before. That's because we're big fans. This little diner-esque spot is perfect spot for a casual dinner with some friends.
We've already told you we like their chicken parm, and how much we like their mozz sticks. We're pretty much fans of everything else on their menu. They have nightly specials that begin at 5 p.m., including Italian Thanksgiving on Thursdays, and Chinese on Sunday.
Don't judge, some of the best Chinese food we've ever eaten was at a little Chinese restaurant in Italy. Who says this Italian joint can't make some dope Chinese?
For sure, you have to have some zeppole for dessert. You can choose from plain, jelly, or chocolate. Why not get all three?
4. Rubirosa (235 Mulberry Street)

Look, we all know that there are tons of pizza spots in NYC. We all have our favorite. But one of the most underrated pizza places in NYC is Rubirosa.
It's sort of like Lombardi's little brother. It wasn't the first child, and even though it may be the better child, their parents can't say they like it better than the first child because that would be wrong.
But we can say it. Rubirosa is the better child, aka, better pizza joint.
Make sure to have their tie-dye pizza or their mini rice balls.
5. Seamore's (390 Broome Street)

This hidden seafood spot shouldn't stay hidden for long. If you're a fan of seafood, you should definitely try Seamore's.
They don't take reservations, so make sure you get to Seamore's early to avoid the rush. And we can guarantee that this spot is going to continue to grow in popularity.
You need to try their tuna poke and the crispy fish tacos. The shishito peppers are also delish, but only if you like some spice.
,6. Lui's Thai Food (128 East 4th Street)
We're all about finding that hole in the wall spot that delivers excellent eats. This spot is one of the smallest spots we've found, and has some of the most underrated food in NYC.
This place is also pretty easy on your wallet, so you can double up on some dishes to get the most out of this little spot.
It's also a BYOB, so grab your favorite bottle of wine before heading over to order some crispy duck and the oxtail noodles.
7. Minca (536 East 5th Street)
Ramen is pretty much all the rage right now. If you want some of the best in NYC, you have to head on over to Minca.
This spot is pretty darn small, but you can watch the cooks as they work if you sit at the ramen bar.
They also offer take out, so if you're looking for a romantic evening for two, but can't cook worth a cent, create a little fort in your living room out of pillows and blankets, with a bunch of holiday string lights.
Then order from Minca, pop a bottle of wine, and have a little adult-style romantic dinner... at least that's our idea of the perfect date. Who says pillow forts in your living room can't be adult?
Make sure you try the pork gyoza before digging into some spicy miso ramen.
8. Brucie (234 Court Street - Brooklyn)
This is a great little spot in Brooklyn. Head here with some friends or for a fun night with your special someone. Dine on some pretty great Italian while listening to some hip hop music.
Brucie is a great spot for brunch if you're with a group of friends.
Grab the french toast with mascarpone, pistachio, honey, and olive oil and a side of applewood smoked bacon.
If you're heading to Brucie for dinner, you should try the tagliatelle with Brussel spouts.
9. Hearth (403 East 12th Street)

If you haven't been to Hearth, you need to go. As in right now. Like right, right now.
It is definitely one of the best all-around restaurants in the East Village.
If you're heading over there between now and October 4th, they're celebrating Oktoberfest with a three course special menu for $50 with a pairing option for an additional $20.
Seriously, tonight is the night you need to check this spot out. If you're past the Oktoberfest deadline, try their gnocchi and their veal and ricotta meatballs.
