Here's what's going on. Chick-fil-A's new location at 37th Street and 6th Avenue is opening on Saturday, and it's going to be wild.
Why will it be wild, you ask? The number one reason, of course, is because of how heavenly these famed chicken sandwiches taste. Their reputation far, far precedes them.
We have to say though, our reputation precedes us too. New Yorkers love freebies. So because Chick-fil-A is offering free chicken sandwiches, that's why we're pretty sure it's going to be insane. Like more insane than zoo escapes, even.
This is the craziest part. Chick-fil-A isn't just offering one chicken sandwich to their first customers. If that were the case, it might less of a big thing.
It would be a big thing, sure, but would there be people camping on the street? We doubt it.
No, giving one free chicken sandwich to every visitor would be much too minor. Chick-fil-A obviously operates by the "go big or go home" mantra, which is why they're offering not one, not two, not even 30, but 52 free meals to 100 customers.
Here's how it works. Show up at Chick-fil-A the night before the big opening, and camp out with them. If you're one of the first 300 people to arrive at the corner of West 37th Street and 6th Avenue between 5:30 and 6 p.m. on Friday, October 2nd, your name will be entered into the drawing.

Then, 100 names will be drawn from the pool of 300. Those 100 people will get 52 free Chick-fil-A meals. Note: winners of the drawing still need to camp out outside the restaurant overnight.
On their announcement, Chick-fil-A states, "You may not leave during this time or you will lose your place in line."
The good news is, they're bringing the sleeping bags.
"There's no need to bring a tent or camping gear. We'll take care of everything you need for this 12-hour event including food, shelter, and entertainment," Chick-fil-A wrote.
You will need to visit their website and see if your zip code is eligible; the first 100 deal is only available to local residents.
So New York, we're genuinely curious. What would you prefer? Free chicken sandwiches all year, or sleeping in your bed on Friday night? We're wondering because to us, they both sound equally tempting.
