Living in New York City is excellent for a multitude of reasons. We're the world's epicenter of literature, art, culture, movies and songs. We've got a ton of diversity, and hundreds of really great restaurants.

We also don't ever have to drive anywhere, which is really great for those of us who'd rather jump off a building than spend every Saturday night as a designated driver. Sure, that was hyperbolic, but we definitely don't want to worry about DDs and BACs and all those other lame acronyms.

Another great reason not having to drive anywhere rocks? We can get just about anything delivered to our doors. 

What can we get delivered to our doors, you might ask?

Well, besides absurdly affordable helicopter service, there are a ton of other services that will bring us everything from whiskey to batteries.

1. Food

We're aware that Seamless exists in other places, according to Bon Appetit, Chicago even orders more late-night food than we do and San Francisco orders as much, but we've still got to love the fact that there are nearly 4,000 restaurants that deliver via Seamless in Manhattan.

If you don't know what it's like to be up at 3 a.m. in NYC and with a couple of taps on your phone, get a delicious, hot Pad Thai brought right to your door, we really can't relate to you.

Seamless is as much a part of every New Yorkers life as the subway, or like, walking past the Empire State Building. The point is, we're super lucky to be able to get affordable, delicious dinners to our door whenever we want.

2. Groceries

We love not having to drive anywhere, but we also hate the strife of carrying heavy grocery bags back from the grocery store.

Holla if you've drunkenly dropped a jar of tomato sauce (or two) and then it shattered on the street!

Well, thankfully New Yorkers no longer have to leave our apartments for bags of weekly eggs, milk, cheese, produce and lunch meats. Thankfully, we've got FreshDirect now, which means we can get our groceries delivered to our door for a very convenient price.

3. Alcohol

You know the scene. It's a Saturday night, and you're having a group over to drink and chill. You take a shower, get ready, and gradually your friends start to arrive. You all start downing beers and getting buzzed. The vibe gets strong.

Suddenly, the need for whiskey, tequila, or vodka is immense. It's okay if you want rum or gin instead. Really, the problem is that you went into the night thinking you wouldn't drink hard alcohol and now, well, you need it.
