Did you hear about the Global Citizen Festival? If you didn't, here's what happened. 

Michelle Obama launched her #62MillionGirls to speak up for girls' rights to education. Also, Beyoncé and Michelle Obama embraced onstage and it was everything beautiful you could possibly imagine, and more.

Pearl Jam sang John Lennon's Imagine and it was one of the more magical things that's happened in New York City in a very long time. 

Plus, of course, Beyoncé was perfect and Ed Sheeran's rendition of,"Photograph" brought this writer to tears.

Among those that stormed the stage at the Global Citizen Festival were Katie Holmes, Malala Yousafzai, Leonardo Di Caprio, and Bono. 

It truly was a magical event, one that surged hope through the veins of the thousands upon thousands of people in attendance; one that might have pushed many over the brink of apathy into determination, belief, and love.
