Well, if you're not you should be. The Bronx has incredible fall events going down at The New York Botanical Garden, at Wave Hill, and at the Bronx Zoo.

We can't think of a better way to get down this fall than with these incredible fall events, all popping off this season in the Bronx.

1. Frida's Fall Harvest (2900 Southern Boulevard - September 14th through November 1st)

Part of the FRIDA KAHLO: Art, Garden, Life exhibit at The New York Botanical Garden, Frida's Fall Harvest brings Frida-inspired activities to the Botanical Garden for the fall.

The delights of the season will be abounding in their full glory with activities like butterfly hunting, crafting wearable science experiments using pumpkin seeds, and gawking at the display of pumpkins of all sizes, shapes, and colors, as well as corn stalks and hay bales in the Adventure Garden.

You'll be able to design a self-portrait featuring fall fruits, design a self-portrait featuring fall fruits, and craft a wearable science experiment using pumpkin seed. Basically, it'll be a blast.

The start date for this fall harvest is September 14th and it ends on November 1st.

2. Boo at the Zoo (2300 Southern Boulevard - weekends in October)

Boo at the Zoo is an NYC favorite when it comes to zoo traditions.

If you get yourself to Boo at the Zoo you'll experience music, magic, and fun facts about animals, all while surrounded by mystery and mischief. They'll have a jack o'lantern illumination, which consists of 1,000 hand-carved and beautifully lit jack o'lanterns. This will go down in World of Darkness.

These jack o'lanterns will be carved into creepy and crawly bugs, bats, hawks, vipers, eels, and more. There will also be costume parades on afternoons from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. 

They'll also have a hay maze, located a their butterfly pad and open on weekends from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Get here and see if you can find your way out.

3. Honey Weekend at Wave Hill (West 249th Street - October 17th & 18th)

Honey Weekend goes down the weekend of October 17th and 18th at the gorgeous, autumn charmed Wave Hill. 

This weekend will include a range of activities, from candle-making and honey-extraction demonstrations to the "Be a Bee" art project, which has become a classic.

You'll also get to meet local beekeepers in Wave Hill's Shop, where you'll experience a delicious selection of local, artisanal honeys and honey infused creams, lip balms, and lotions.

4. Giant Pumpkin Carving at The New York Botanical Garden (October 19th - 20th - 2900 Southern Boulevard)

Didn't get enough of The New York Botanical Garden when you visited Frida's Fall Harvest? Great.

Giant Pumpkin Carving Weekend will rock through town on October 19th and 20th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Clay Family Picnic Pavilions at The New York Botanical Garden.

What's this event all about? Amazing question. Giant pumpkins from all around the world, expected to weigh more than 1,800 pounds each, will arrive at the garden and get transformed into works of spooky art by Master Carver Ray Villafane. You know, the guy from the food network.

Villafan and his team will transform these crazy huge pumpkins into sculptural masterpieces, carnivorous plants, and other scary creatures. You'll also get to enjoy a question and answer session with the carvers and snack on seasonal treats.

Sounds like a blast to us.

5. Día De Los Muertos at The New York Botanical Garden (October 31st and November 1st)

Still not have enough of The New York Botanical Garden?

Great. You've come to the right source. Also a part of Art, Garden, Life, this event will conclude the Frida Kahlo exhibit at The Botanical Garden.

Celebrating the Mexican tradition famous for bringing together family and friends to remember loved ones, Día de lost Muertos is a celebration that consists of larger-than-life skeletons, butterflies, and La Catrina, the centerpiece of this colorful holiday.

If you attend this holiday, you'll get to stroll the Conservatory Plaza with stilt dancers. Wear a mask or have your face painted for the occasion. 

This weekend fiesta will be held twice at the Garden, on October 31st and November 1st. Get tickets here.

6. Thriller on the River (October 31st)

Do you love canoeing? Excellent, then listen up.

Going down on Saturday, October 31st (otherwise known as Halloween) Thriller on the River is a wild, two-and-a-half hour halloween canoe ride. 

It starts on the Bronx River at 219th Street and proceeds to the Mitsubishi Riverwalk at the Bronx Zoo. While you're canoeing, you'll travel through Shoelace Park, The Bronx River Forest, The Botanical Garden, and the Bronx Zoo.

We all know you're going to turn up on Halloween evening, but why not spend the day beforehand paddling down a gorgeous river, splashing through the water and getting some exercise? Grab your tickets here.

7. Pumpkin Fest and Halloween Spooktacular (October 31st)

This event is everything you'd hope it'd be for a Halloween day. There will be pumpkin designing, face painting, and more.

What do we mean by "more?" How about a maze of horrors? Will you dare to enter? There will also be a traveling patch, which everyone knows is essential for Halloween festivities.

The best part about this event is that it's totally free. It will take place at the Classic Community Center at 286 East 156th Street.
