Well, this just in. The newest iPhone is smashing into stores today. While it's true that they look exactly like the last iPhone, there are several features of Apple's new 6s that the 6s didn't have.
The 6s has a new "3D Touch" feature, which allows the phone to discern between a quick tap and a long press. This opens up portals for the phone owner to to unlock shortcuts to the actions the user takes most often.
A "little bit of pressure," according to an on-stage demo, allows users to preview email, then return to inbox. The new phone also has a faster 64-bit A9 processor and a sharper camera. There's also a new, stronger glass on the screen, which will hopefully prevent so many users' phones from shattering.
The new phones are available in rose gold, silver, gold, and space gray.
Most of what's new about this phone was released when the new watches came out, so before you rush to the Apple store to get the newest iPhone, though, let's take a break for a second and chat.
Shouldn't Apple make special iPhones for their New York City demographic? Aren't we some of their most frequently buying customers?
If you're an Apple representative and you're reading this, we would really appreciate if you'd consider our ideas, because as New Yorkers there are some features we wish the new iPhone had. No, we don't mean apps. We want these features built into the interface of the phone.
1. Nearest bodega locator
thevincentbyrne Bodegas are the best!!!! #bodega #nycbodega #getouttamydreamsgetintomycar #bodegasarethebest
We all know the feeling of going to visit a friend late at night, and feeling that pesky rumble in our stomachs. We could all duck into a 7-Eleven, but who wants that when you could have an expertly prepared sandwich from an expert bodega?
No one, right? So what if you could step out of whatever subway you boarded to visit your friend, and your phone would instantly inform you where the closest bodega was located? Wouldn't that be excellent?
[anad]
No one wants a subpar chicken caesar wrap from 7-Eleven when you could have an amazing, above par, incredible sandwich from a bodega.
We also wouldn't hate a dope street food locater, nor would we be angry about a dollar slice locator either. Hey Apple, why do you think we'd like to know about the stocks more than we'd like to know about where there are dollar slices?
So, Apple, could you get on that please?
2. Direction orientation

It's true that iPhones have a nifty compass, and it's also true that traffic runs west on odd-numbered streets and east on even-numbered streets.
Sometimes it's hard to figure out what the compass is saying, though, and leads us astray. Sometimes we emerge from the subway on double-laned streets, and we can't figure out whether they're running west or east.
The point is, if we exited the subway and were immediately informed which way was north, south, east, and west, getting around would be much easier.
3. Pepper spray
bust_magazine #BUSTCraftacular is two days away! Come check out one of our vendors, @dahliasoleil, and her handmade patches of sass @makerfaire in Queens, NY this Saturday and Sunday.
Is pepper spray legal in New York? To a certain degree. It's legal to buy a can of safety spray that fits inside a standard pocket, larger canisters are illegal.
So, fine, we'll pertain to those laws and keep the new iPhone's pepper spray container under the legal limit. Can we all shout out that we'd all feel much safer if we had a store of pepper spray in our phones?
[anad2]
We're mostly talking to the ladies out there, but we're sure there are guys who'd enjoy feeling safer on those late-night walks too. Hey ladies, sick of gripping your keys between your fingers on your walk home? Wouldn't it be cool to be able to just shoot out pepper spray from your phone?
4. Singles locator
Okay, so we're talking about Tinder but less hassle. We're talking the kind of Tinder that you don't have to bother with any swiping, because your phone already knows whether you two would be a good match.
How about our two Siris can chat about our habits, personalities, and humor, and decide whether we'd like each other? If both of our Siris determine we'd be a good match, then and only then our phones would set us up at a bar together. Then and only then we'd be thrust into a real-life social situation.
Could we get on that? Having Siri help us with stuff like "where is the nearest restaurant?" is cool, but if Siri could curate our dating lives it'd be even cooler.
,5. Street heckler warning
Could we get on this? We would love for Siri to do some recon work and communicate with cell phones ahead of us to tell us when there's going to be a particularly absurd street heckler on the sidewalk. So we can, of course, avoid that particularly absurd street heckler.
[anad]
The guy trying to thrust newspapers in our face? We'll walk to the other side of the sidewalk. The woman begging us to try her store's massages? Well, we'd totally want one if they weren't so expensive; but, again, switch to the other side of the sidewalk.
6. Time management
We would love for Siri to take a more proactive role in our time management. We would love it if we were on beer six at happy hour and Siri stepped in with a, "Hey, you said you were going to do laundry tonight. You need to go home."
Even better would be if Siri would step in once we start to spiral down the Netflix black hole and say, "Hey, you'd better get some sleep! You have to go to work tomorrow." Or, "You can sleep until 10 a.m. tomorrow since you don't have work, but you need to be at the grocery store by 11."
Even better, obviously, if she'd create a list of what we need at the grocery store, and tell us where in the store to find those items.
What we're saying is, Siri currently takes an extremely passive role in whether or not we're making productive choices. We would like if she stepped it up.
7. Longer battery life
aleja_n_dalmatians I had to literally run to plug it on 😂📱🔋🔌 #1percent #iphone #nobattery #run #lol#telcel #stupidbattery #1% #sucks #batteryless #dyingiphone #iphonesia #onlyiphone #iphoneproblems #iphoneuser #iphone
This is what we all really need. We're pretty sure we can speak for every single New Yorker when we say that a longer battery life is what we all really need. Seriously. Really.
[anad2]
We're almost certain every single New Yorker wishes for more battery life when the clock strikes 11:11 every night. Has Apple worked out this kink? Well, we'll have to buy the new 6s to find out.
