This weekend marks the lucky number 13th anniversary of the New York Burlesque Fest, and needless to say, it's ruffling our feathers a little. 

If you've never been in years past, we're going to go ahead and highly recommend you check it out.

The event spreads, shakes and shimmies from September 24th through 27th in venues across the City, and we're told it gets better every year with new and returning performers from all around the world.

And it's no surprise that New York Burlesque Fest's co-producers, Angie Pontani and Jen Gapay, are, themselves, top ladies in the burlesque scene. 

Pontani, affectionately known as "The Italian Stallionette," is a crucial NYC burlesque figure, boss lady behind Pontani Productions as well as one of the most sought after burlesque dancers in the country (and beyond), as she's most recently been featured in Cheek to Cheek, the Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett PBS special and Snoop Dogg's Snoop-A-Delic Cabaret in Las Vegas. 

Co-producer Jen Gapay is not a dancer. Rather, she's a multitalented event producer and mastermind of Thirsty Girl Productions, which focuses mainly on music, burlesque and variety shows. 

So the event is in good hands, and has been since its inception over a decade ago. But let's not forget about the Golden Pasties Awards, which are pretty self explanatory. 

Yes, there are awards for the greatest performer, and yes, they are actually golden pasties.

The Teaser Party went down last night at The Bell House, but tonight is The Premiere Party at Brooklyn Bowl. We support your decision to go see the show. 

Not only is the Brooklyn Bowl one of the best venues in NYC, but you know they're going to go hard for the first major event of the festival, right?

Tickets are $12 at the door or $10 in advance. Doors at 6 p.m., show at 8 p.m. So go put on your sparkliest randy gear and get down retro tease style. We're partial to chesticle party hats, but hey, go bananas!
