This weekend, New York City music blog and promotion outfit Live For Live Music will make Brooklyn come alive.

It's something like an all-day-and-night music festival held in venues around Williamsburg. It's seventeen hours of music spread out across Verboten, Verboten Cabaret, and Music Hall of Williamsburg featuring over 30 artists.

Many of the artists bringing the life to Brooklyn this weekend were just upstate playing Catskill Chill Festival last weekend, which was an enormous success and full of amazing shining souls-- both on stage and off. We're hoping BK Comes Alive is something like the City version of that.

Top talent includes killer guitarist Eric Krasno (Lettuce, Soulive), virtuoso jazz drummer Billy Martin (Medeski, Martin & Wood), electrojam bassist Marc Brownstein (Disco Biscuits, Electron, Conspirator), fire vocalist Nigel Hall (9th Power, Lettuce) and way, way more. 

The general vibes circulating around the fantastically curated list of artists participating include funk, jam, soul, jazz, and some electronic elements mixed in for good measure.

Now the event seems to be sold out, but if you know your way around the music scene you'll have no problem finding an extra ticket, a spare ticket, something on Stubhub, or a "miracle." 

We're especially looking forward to the Blue Note Jazz Brunch sets at Verboten from 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Marvel Years with Todd Stoops, Stratosphere All-Stars, Marco Benevento & Friends, and well basically the whole schedule is tight. Check it out:
