It's a well known fact that the rent is too damn high, and also that everything else costs way too much in New York City. Our cost of living is outrageous.

So it makes a lot of sense that NYC would rank number three on major international bank UBS' study on the most expensive city in the world. 

Or does it? Let's not forget: the rent's too damn high!

UBS' study ranked Zurich and Geneva as "more expensive" than NYC, but they didn't take rent into consideration. SMDH. 

How can you attempt to determine the world's most expensive city without adding rent to the equation? We thought UBS were full of bankers; isn't money their thing?

So how did they end up with Zurich and Geneva on top? Well, the study focused on the monthly costs of a family of three. How rent or mortgage payments were omitted from a study on families' monthly costs, we have no clue because that's quite absurd.

But the point is, if you include the cost of rent, New York City is definitely the most expensive city in the world. Obviously. 

Literally, we saw someone pay $15 for a pack of cigarettes the other day. Sometimes, street vendors even want to charge $8 for a mango. A mango? Like, really?
