For the first time about 40 years, McDonald's is closing more locations than it is opening. 

This is good news for people concerned about the high concentration of unhealthy fast food available, perhaps more widely available than the more affordable and healthier options. 

But it's not that simple. Of course, when Micky D's loses a ton of regular locations, they've decided to offset the loss by opening a brand new type of McDonald's called Ronald's. 

Now, Ronald's is designed to be a "casual dining" establishment. If that's confusing to you because you thought McDonald's was already casual as hell, then let us explain. "Casual dining" restaurants are generally considered to include places like Ruby Tuesday's, Applebee's, Chili's, etc.

McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's and the like are "fast food." 

What does this mean? Ronald's will be offering kind of elevated McDonald's classics, such as free-range "breaded poultry morsels" with Sriracha chimichurri sauce in lieu of chicken nuggets...

So the new Ronald's is to be slightly fancier than how we're used to McDonald's being.

The new chain is getting a test run in six cities including Buffalo, New York; Boise, Idaho; Las Vegas, Nevada; Houston, Texas; Santa Rosa, California; and New Haven, Connecticut. 

If Ronald's is anything like Eddie Murphy's sketch about how nobody wants mom's home made burger when the kid down the block has McDonald's, nobody's going to be into the fancier fast food menu. 

Or maybe it'll be a hit and Eddie Murphy doesn't know what he's talking about. He's been wrong before (see: Beverly Hills Cop II, The Haunted Mansion, Norbit).
