Recently CBS made an unprecedented report on the 2nd Avenue subway using the first drone ever allowed to explore the tunnels and layers of the New York City subway.

The drone footage tracks the development of what will eventually be the East 72nd Street station. 

Eighty to one hundred feet below street level, the new station is expected to handle hundreds of thousands per day, more than other cities' subways combined.


Special vibration reducing tracks are being used on the new project to minimize subway noise bleeding up to the ground level.
