Who needs transportation, right? In New York City, you don't need anything to get around besides your two trusty feet.
On this journey, you'll need nothing to get around besides yourself, your wallet, and a change of clothes if you choose to take the yoga class we've suggested between brunch and lunch.
But if you want to skip the yoga portion of this phenomenal day, we get it.
Regardless, we've got a great downtown NYC day planned for you.
It includes brunch, shopping, lunch, seeing a show, yoga, more shopping, dinner, and live music. The best part is that you won't need a car, subway, bus, or taxi to get to any of these activities.
We just recommend that you wear comfortable walking footwear. And prepare for fun.
1. Brunch at Essex (120 Essex Street)
Enjoy whatever cab ride or subway you took to get to Essex, because it's the last time you're going to be in a cab or subway today. And once you're there, why not chow down?
They've got a $25.95 brunch special, which includes a meal plus three bloody marys, screwdrivers or mimosas.

What are you in the mood to chow down on? How about Mexican Matzo Brei, Lobster Bennedict, or the Essex Famous Potato Pancakes?
Whatever you choose, it's bound to be delicious. You'll probably be a bit tipsy by the time you leave, but that was our goal, right?
2. Quick drinks at the Back Room (102 Norfolk Street)
Since you've absolutely worked up a hearty buzz at your brunch at Essex, why not stop into the Back Room to keep your buzz going strong?
After all, it's historic. It's one of the only two speakeasies in NYC that operated during prohibition and is still in existence today. Plus, it's only one block north from Essex.
So, while you're slurping back your delicious drinks, make sure to keep in mind that people once drank at the Back Room when drinking was illegal.
3. Take a yoga class at Yoga to the People (12 Saint Mark's Place)

Oh well, next time!
Nestled on Saint Marks Place between 2nd and 3rd Avenues lies a respite from stress in this gorgeous, eclectic neighborhood. From the Back Room you'll have to walk nine blocks north to arrive at Saint Marks Place.
These wonderful, transformative yoga classes are donation based, which means they won't decimate your bank account like most of the other yoga classes in NYC.
Sure, you'll be sweaty afterward, but at least you'll be sweating out some of the alcohol you consumed earlier. Throw some clothes back on in their changing areas and head back out into the day.
4. Peruse Casey Rubber Stamps and Buffalo Exchange (322 and 332 East 11th Street)

Hop another three blocks north to Artichoke's, widely famed as some of the best pizza pie in the whole city. Since we're having a turned up day, why not grab a couple of beers while you're at it? You've earned it.
They've got vodka slices, crab slices, margherita slices, silician slices, and of course their signature artichoke slice. All their slices are thin, crispy, and more delicious than you could possibly believe. Until, of course, you're tried it.
A plus about this place is that they're open until 5 a.m. daily. So you don't have to go here for the perfectly reasonable lunch we've suggested. Feel free to subvert the normal pizza eating time.
Whatever you decide, we're positive you'll leave Artichoke Basille's full and with a happy stomach.
,6. See at show at Theatre 80 Saint Marks (80 Saint Marks Place)
Head five blocks back downtown to Saint Marks Place and right into Theatre 80 Saint Marks. This venue is a vital NYC destination for performances of all kinds.

You'll definitely want to snag tickets for whatever show, musical, or talk you decide to witness prior to your day or walking the Lower East Side.
7. Browse Housing Works Thrift Shop (126 Crosby Street)
If you didn't get enough vintage clothes shopping in Buffalo Exchange, you can easily quench your thirst at Housing Works Thrift Shop.
Plus, they also sell amazing accessories, artwork, handbags, furniture and jewelry. All for amazing prices.
The best part is that all of the proceeds from Housing Work go to helping people in NYC living with HIV/AIDs and homelessness, and that's always extremely excellent.
8. Grab dinner at Katz's Deli (205 East Houston Street)
davidlemayian With @callmealienke at the famous Katz's restaurant of New York. It's worth the google.. :)
This is NYC's most iconic deli, and part of the flavor of the Lower East Side. We figured it was only fitting for you to get your dinner grub at one of NYC's most iconic and delicious restaurants.
[anad2]
The truth of the matter is that until you've had a pastrami sandwich at Katz's, you aren't a real New Yorker. It also doesn't hurt that they're delicious.
9. Hear some music at Rockwood Music Hall (196 Allen Street)
This intimate concert venue presents amazing singers and songwriters to those in attendance. Most of these shows are free. Or at most they'll require you buy two drinks. Which you'd probably do anyway, right?
This is a perfect way to close off your excellent walking day. Plus, it's two blocks West of Katz's. And we know you've done a lot of walking today.
So head into Rockwood Music Hall and end your glorious walking day on the LES getting crunk and jamming to some tunes.
