We all love Uber, right? 

Standing on the street waving your arm like a lunatic trying to wave down a cab is so last decade - the New York City Taxi commission even has a new app for hailing a cab. Uber has officially altered the landscape of traveling in New York City.

However, holler if you're sick of surge pricing and the mounting list of Uber's sexual assault, kidnapping, and DUI charges. We're sick of it too, which is why we believe it's time for an app switch. 

Maybe de Blasio wasn't successful in thwarting Uber's attempts on monopolization, but the new app Via might be.

Since our patience with Uber's list of allegations and sky-high prices is wearing a little thin, allow us to present a phenomenal alternative. Enter Via, the new ride sharing app that pairs you up with others heading in the same direction. 

It only costs $5 per ride. That was not a typo, you heard us right. $5 per ride. 

It's true that you have to share a car with someone, and we all know from all our crazy subway rides that there are some nuts in this city. Who knows, though? Maybe you'll find the love of your life in a Via car. 

Or at least someone tolerable.

Via is an up-and-coming app, so its areas of service are limited (between Canal and 110th Street) as are its hours (weekdays, 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.). We have faith that it'll blow up, though. Since they just raised $37.1 million.

With Via you'll get to save money, reduce your carbon footprint, and probably meet new friends. Plus, you get $10 credit when you refer a preexisting friend.
