Costing a whopping 2.5 billion dollars, the new station at 34th Street-Hudson Yards is expected to make crosstown travel a bit easier-- especially for those coming to and from Queens and the far West Side of Manhattan.  

Let's repeat that, something about getting around on the New York City subway will be easier now. Seriously, can we get an "Amen!" or what? 

So now, if you're trying to go to the far West Side, or planning on getting super cozy in the burgeoning Hudson Yards community growing right near the new stop, you're in luck.

“The 7 Line Extension will open up the far West Side to mass transit for the first time, and the new station and additional tail tracks for train storage will also improve service for customers using the line in Queens and Manhattan,” MTA New York City Transit President Carmen Bianco said in a statement.
