Milkshake It Off, Milkshake It Off: New Yorkers, Are You Celebrating National Chocolate Milkshake Day?

In July, we hit you up with these mouthwatering milkshake spots

We're going to go ahead and pat ourselves on the back for that one, because there's really nothing quite like a rich, flavorful milkshake cooling your throat and stomach on a blistering day.

However, since today is National Chocolate Milkshake Day, we're going to really focus on the places with delicious, creamy, chocolate bliss milkshakes.

Raise your hand if you know what it's like to feel more devoted to chocolate than you do to most of your friends. Yeah, we get that too.

Chocolate is life, and milkshakes are amazing. Put them together, and well... fuhgettaboutit.

It's true that we keep talking about how it's fall now and everything, but let's face it. It's as hot and stuffy out there as it ever was.

We could all use a delicious chocolate milkshake to cool down on this glorious day of milkshake celebration.

Now find out where to get them below.

1. Shake Shack (various NYC locations)

Oh, Shake Shack. How we love you until all eternity. Go to Shake Shack for their oozing-with-cheese burgers. Go for their new chicken sandwiches and their crispy, salty fries. Stay for the perfect chocolate milkshakes.

Shake Shack's chocolate shakes aren't too thick, and they're not too sugary. As Goldilocks would say, they're just right. Part of the fun is that Shake Shack switches up their milkshake flavors every month. In March, they had chocolate hazelnut, and that blew our minds.

In May, they had cookies n' chocolatey cream, and that rocked our worlds. In July, they had malted chocolate cheesecake, and we fell in love. Now, it's September and they've got mint chocolate fudge. If you haven't treated yourself to one, you're missing out.

Don't go to Shake Shack during conventional lunch hours, unless you love waiting in lines. Go at a really original, subversive time to get delicious chocolate milkshake goodness pronto.

2. Mikey Likes It Ice Cream (199 Avenue A)

Mikey Likes It has the chocolate milkshake experience you've been waiting for. There really isn't any other place like Mikey Likes It.

Their interior is admittedly small, but is constantly blasting out dope tunes, and has a completely adorable setup, which renders Mike Likes It an extremely pleasant location to enjoy a chocolate milkshake indeed.

They've got a throwback theme, with every flavor of the month on the wall under famous faces. Their prices are also extremely reasonable, especially when you're buying a milkshake drenched in the flavor of our hearts. Which is, of course, chocolate.

The point we're trying to make is that if you get to Mikey Likes It and you consume a delicious chocolate milkshake, you'll leave happy. We promise.

3. OddFellows Ice Cream Company (various NYC locations)

Get to one of OddFellows'  two locations today. They've got one in Williamsburg and one in the East Village.  Plus, they've got those dope chocolate milkshakes.

If you bring friends who aren't obsessed with chocolate milkshakes to their Williamsburg location, they'll be able to enjoy one of their 12 rotating flavors, and they'll get to choose from 8 in the East Village. But you already know what flavor you want, don't you?

Their milkshakes are huge, come with whipped cream and a cherry, and a side of happiness. It might be slightly dripping over the brim of your cup because they fill it so high, but you'll just have to take a huge sip fast, won't you?

4. Burger and Barrel (25 West Houston Street)

gastronami The Spiked Shake (vanilla ice cream, bourbon, caramel sauce) at Burger & Barrel. Yummy!

If you haven't tried the chocolate milkshake from Burger and Barrel yet, you need to run (not walk) downtown and sample this creamy morsel of heaven.

Burger and Barrel's chocolate milkshakes are so classic, so creamy and infused with everything you'd hope for in a milkshake.

If you want your world to really explode, order a chocolate shake and French fries, and then dip your fry in your shake. Prepare to have your perspective radically altered, as the world is cast in a whole new, albeit much more beautiful, French fry and chocolate shake light.

They've also got spiked shakes for those looking to turn up, but they're not chocolate so, go get it on a different day.

5. Sundaes and Cones (95 East 10th Street)

simplybuts My one true love....ice cream 😋😋😋#sundaesandcones#lychee#pistachioalmond#wafflecone#milkshakefloat#cherryvanilla#nomnoms#dessert#eastvillage#happytummy#nycdessert#nycfood#nyc#instafood#newyork#ilovenyc#keepeating#keepwalking#keeprepeating

Sundaes and Cones is an absolutely amazing location, serving both those interested in braving unchartered flavors like wasabi, ginger, corn, and tiramisu. But we're not here to talk about any of those flavors, are we?

We're here for one reason, and one reason alone. That's, of course, the all-star Hercules of milkshakes; the chocolate milkshake. All Sundaes and Cones ice cream and shakes have been delicately churned and mixed with distinct ingredients.

With every ecstatic slurp of their ingenious chocolate milkshake you'll be reminded that they homemade it - that they churned it and mixed it and cared about you while they did it.

Treat yourself today on this national holiday. Go get a chocolate milkshake from Sundaes and Cones.
