The notorious "onion-chopping ninjas" are in full effect on this Barkbox video below, featuring the last surviving 9/11 rescue dog, Bretagne.

Bretagne is a sixteen-year-old Golden Retriever, and for a medium-sized dog, that amounts to about 87 years of age.

It was on Bretagne's 87th birthday that her handler/owner/"mom" Denise Corliss came back to New York City.

Part of Texas Task Force 1, these two ladies' first deployment was search-and-rescue at Ground Zero, and they have been inseparable ever since.

Be sure to grab a box of tissues before you hit play, because this video is both moving and cute. All good things.

P.S., thank you, Denise & Bretagne.
