Well, we have some insane news for you. That's right, this news is insane.
You can do more than drink on New York City's rooftops.

1. Brooklyn Grange (various NYC locations)

Nothing competes with summer weekends, but we have some equally relaxing yoga workshops lined up this week that will get you through until your next beach day. Tonight, weekly yoga at 6:30. Wednesday, yoga Flow and Sound Meditation will take you miles away on hump day; 6:30-8:30. Last but definitely not least, we are holding our first ever Kids' Yoga class on August 24th, 4-6pm!! On September 23rd Brooklyn Grange will offer a Sunset Yoga Flow and Sound Meditation as part of their summer rooftop yoga series.
This last installation of a class series dedicated to exploring the chakras through yoga and sound immerses its students in playful, energizing yoga.
The class will be inspired by the seasonal offerings of their 65,000 square food garden (it's the biggest in the world!). You can get tickets for that excellent, soulful event here.
If you're not into yoga though, you can attend one of their farm tours, soap making workshops, dinners, canning and preservation workshops, or open houses.

Do you love ice cream? Of course you do, we're sorry. We didn't mean to imply that you didn't have a soul.
Well, Ample Hills Creamery expanded in July of 2014 to include a Gowanus location in addition to their original Prospect Heights location. And guess what? The Gowanus location includes an outdoor roof deck and party space.
After you've gotten your amazing, delicious, creamy ice cream you can make your way to the rooftop, which is replete with colored adirondack chairs and breathtaking views.
We know what you're thinking. You're thinking ice cream and amazing views, spoiled NYC?! That's too good to be true!

4. Live jazz at Hotel Chantelle (92 Ludlow Street)
The essence of climate controlled Hotel Chantelle will immediately haul your mind and soul to a garden in the South of France. They've got a fun French menu, champagne, creative cocktails, and decorated lamp post lightings.
They've also got draping floral greeneries, and, the best part is that they've got live jazz during Saturday brunch from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Rocking the jazz game on this beautiful rooftop are Dandy Wellington and his band.
So if you love music, amazing food, and getting completely buzzed amidst gorgeous views, we're pretty sure we just found your new favorite spot.
5. Subway Sets rooftop concerts (various NYC locations)

Subway Sets brings New York's best underground musicians up to rooftops above the city. They morph the city's skyline into concert backdrops, awarding talented musicians much deserved exposure and audiences.
Previous performers include Too Many Zoos, Moon Hooch, Robert Leslie, and Catey Shaw. Their performers have jammed out on more than rooftops all across NYC.
They staged their very first show at Brooklyn Grange, and other previous venues include The Bowery Hotel, and Webster Hall.
