This month, the wonderful folks at Improv Everywhere, those whimsical cats who've brought us the No Pants Subway Ride and Epic Christmas Caroling, are back with MP3 Experiment Twelve.
It's sort of a guided flash mob with a bombastic robotic conductor at the helm.
Seriously, this is what happens when thousands of people download the same exact MP3, gather in a public setting, and then hit play simultaneously.
The MP3 leads the group through a series of silly actions that, to onlookers, appear borderline absurd-- and that's pretty much the point: finding new ways to freak out the public without actually scaring anyone.
This is the program's twelfth year and it's been toured internationally-- all the way from Germany to Australia.
This year, it's hosted in partnership with the Prospect Park Alliance and will be featured as part of BEAT Fest 2015, a nearly ten-day long New York City dance festival.
So yeah, MP3 Experiment Twelve is going down on Friday, September 18th from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Prospect Park. It's free and open, so get on it.
