Remember that time back in March when we hit you with the news about those Manhattan micro-apartments? Well, they're much closer to becoming a reality for some lucky New Yorkers.

Here's the latest: New York City's first apartment building made entirely of micro-units is now accepting applications for select openings.

My Micro NY, at 335 East 27th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues, offers studios ranging from 260 to 360 square feet, fourteen of which are now up for grabs.

It breaks down like this: you can apply for one of eleven studios going for $950/month-- if you're single and making between $34,526 and $48,350, or two people earning $34,526 and $55,250.

There are three more studios open to singles pulling in $53,109 and $78,650 or two people earning $53,109 and  $89,830-- valued at $1,492/mo.

Tenants will enjoy the services of "a virtual doorman, bike storage, fitness center, business room, salon, roof terrace, and, for an extra charge, storage lockers."

My Micro NY is the winner of a Bloomberg-era design competition for a Kips Bay rental building.

Anyone who's been following the story since the contest was announced four years back is probably excited-- though the buzz might be a bit disappointing because it seems like only 28 people max  will fill these available studios.

So whoever those 30 or so people end up being, they'll definitely be able to make funnier jokes about having a smaller apartment than any other New Yorker and for that, kudos!

But be sure to let us know when you're moving on out, eh?
