Everybody knows that Uber is the video that killed the radio star of the taxi game. That's all good though, things are constantly changing in this city, amirite?
Well, not if the yellow and green cabs of New York City have anything to say about it. They've been suffering for years now, under the weight of the powerhouse that has become Uber.
A new ride-hailing app for yellow and green cabs called Arro is now in its beta phase, with 7,000 taxis participating at the moment.
It's basically Uber, but for actual yellow cabs instead of some randoms with a black Toyota.
While there have been apps with a similar design in the past that failed miserably, the yellow taxi world has high hopes for the new app. It works a lot like Uber too, with your credit card info pre-loaded and tip included.

So what's it cost, right? Well, whatever's on the meter is what you'll end up paying...
Which begs the question: why even try? If you're not going to give New Yorkers a better value dollar-wise, than what's the incentive for using the app?

Well, for one, you'll have another app to play with. Plus, it does away with the annoying chore of actually having to hail a cab on the streets of this city.
So yeah, we guess it'll be worth a shot, right?
