It's an unfortunate fact that many neighborhoods across the country and world are bereft of nutritious food sources for their inhabitants. 

To help educate the masses and facilitate better eating habits in the hoods of New York City and beyond, platinum recording artists Jadakiss and Styles P have partnered in a new business venture called Juices for Life. 

With three shops up and running in the tri-state area thus far, the world famous rappers are hoping to have a positive, healthy effect on those living in less fortunate neighborhoods. 

Known as "food deserts," these spots have notoriously low access to nutritional foods, predominantly in low-income neighborhoods where, according to Yonkers native Styles P, "mostly the money gets invested in liquor stores and the kind of things we really don't need."

Because "most of the hood don't go to the doctor, most of the hood doesn't have health insurance...[they're seeking] a way to prevent" issues like diabetes and childhood obesity by promoting healthier habits with juice bars.

Their hearts are in the right place, and it's a breath of fresh air in all-too-familiar rapper-gone-entrepreneur landscape of today.
