But seeing as Queens has over two million residents, and is the largest in area of the five boroughs, we didn't cover it all. 

The fact of the matter is that Queens is bursting at the seams with diversity, culture, and great music. They've got a plethora of incredible parks and wildlife refuse, museums, and some of the best food in the five boroughs.

Which is why you've just got to visit. If you're still not convinced, read below.

1. Queens County Farm Museum (73-50 Little Neck Parkway)

This natural oasis isn't just beautiful. It's also historic. As its been in operation since 1697, it's NYC's largest plot of undisturbed farmland and the longest continuously farmed site in the State of New York. Its beauty stretches for 47-acres.

Queens County Farm Museum has got friendly livestock like honeybees, goats, hens, pigs, and sheep. It also has charming, historical buildings, a greenhouse complex, and an orchard and herb garden.

Plus, general admission to this farm, museum, and historical site is completely free which is just another reason Queens rocks.


2. Flushing Meadows Corona Park

With events like concerts, art, film, and free concerts, this park is a must-visit destination in NYC. Plus, it's the biggest park in Queens. 

It's even got its own Fantasy Forest Amusement Park, a Boathouse with a sailing instruction program, bike paths and instruction, a recreation complex, the Queens Zoo, and the Queens Museum of Art.

Plus, 897 acres of space for playing any sport under the sun, hiking, and exercising. This park truly has it all.

The Queens Museum's current exhibitions include Indian Modernism To Contemporary India, Mickalene Thomas Untitled, and Robert Seydel's The Eye In Matter. They're stunning, and you've got to check them out. 

Oh yeah, and this park's also got the Unisphere, a 12-story high stainless steel representation of earth. It's pretty quintessential Queens and a big prop for the movie Men in Black, so you've probably seen it.

For over 60 years the "Lemon Ice King" has been making Italian ice into an art form by squeezing cases of lemons and oranges to get the true taste in his production of Italian ice.

From blue berry to watermelon, all their flavors are infused with real fruit pieces. 

Not to mention The Lemon Ice King of Corona has been recognized as the standard for Italian ice. They've got over three dozen flavors, they're only two minutes from Citi Field, and they've got gourmet candy apples.

So if you find yourself in Corona and you even sort of like Italian Ice, be sure to get your hands on the real deal.

The Arthur Ashe Stadium is a part of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, and it's the largest tennis-specific stadium in the world. It's got an enormous seating capacity of 22,547. 

It's also, you know, the main stadium of the U.S. Open.

5. Citi Field

Citi Field is the famed home of the Mets, plus plenty of amazing concerts and breathtaking views of the Whitestone and Throgs Neck Bridges.

Plus, it's right across the walkway from the Arthur Ashe Stadium. Both landmarks are also only paces from the Unisphere.

It's the perfect place for baseball fans to yell their heads off for the New York Metropolitans, and down some cold beers while they're at it. It's got a 45,000 person capacity, so the support can get extreme.

6. Flushing Town Hall (137-35 Northern Boulevard)

This historic Town Hall was built in 1862 and originally served as the seat of government in the village of Flushing.

Today, its beautiful timely interior is a lively performance hall that hosts a cavalcade of musical events and the storytelling slam series The Moth, as well as a dope drum circle with master drummers to celebrate the Harvest Moon.

They also host other amazing events like the Caskills Comes to Queens event,  a farm-to-festival food and wine tasting. It also hosts social media network gatherings, and the monthly Jazz Jam session which absolutely bursts with talented musicians. 

Getting yourself to the Flushing Town Hall for an event will not be an experience you regret.


7. Forest Park (8001 Myrtle Avenue)

Forest Park encompasses more than 500 acres of natural resources and human engineered activities.

With more than 165 acres of trees and plethora of hiking trails and paths, it's a nature lover's paradise. It's also got a 110-acre golf course, known by many as one of NYC's most challenging golf courses, softball and baseball fields, tennis, bocce, and handball courts.

And every summer the George Seuffert Sr. Bandshell hosts free concerts and films that can accommodate up to 2,800.


8. Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge (Broad Channel)

This gorgeous natural sanctuary contains 9,155 miles of diverse habitats, brackish and fresh water ponds and salt marsh.

It's also home to more than 330 species of birds, and a variety of reptiles, amphibians, small mammals, and over 60 species of butterflies.

It's also got tons of hiking trails for your own personal nature getaway. 

Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge represents the perfect opportunity to completely forget you're even in the hustle and bustle of NYC. You just need a free walking permit to hike these trails, which you can snag at the Visitor Contact Station.


9. Cunningham Park (Grand Central Parkway - Oakland Gardens)

Cunningham Park is the central location for many when it comes to culture, sports, and nature, and barbecuing fanaticism.

It's got 358 acres of woods, forest trails, and playing fields. In addition to the Cunningham Tennis Center and facilities for baseball, softball, soccer, basketball, football, bocce ball, cricket and volleyball, it's also famed for its mountain biking trails.

In the summer, Cunningham Park's also got concerts and a summertime Movies Under the Stars series.
