It's the last week of August, and you know what that means.
If you don't know what it means, here's our take on it: we think you should get out of your apartment every night this week because you can lie in bed and watch Netflix any night of any month.
And sure, the official end of summer is September 21st. But as time spins, our sunny days spin into memories, and we must ask, how are you planning to end your August?

Monday - Sunday
1. New York International Fringe Festival (various NYC locations)
One of the largest multi-arts events in the United States, the New York International Fringe Festival will spend this week storming over 20 stages all over NYC.
They use a jury-based selection process to choose their 200 performances for the festival. The performances fall into the fabulous genres of stand-up comedy, improv, clown performances, multimedia shows, drama, magic, musical opera, and performance art.

2. Brooklyn Comedy Festival (various Brooklyn locations)
The Brooklyn Comedy festival is going down all week, and there will be hilarious performers rocking the stage, spilling their guts, and provoking belly-ache laughs from their whole audience.
Does that sound fun to you?
Comedy identifies an aspect of society no one talks about, and dives into it. Sick of no one discussing the hilarious absurdity of "manspreading," uptight people, and awkward sex?
The Brooklyn Comedy Festival's got you. It'll showcase both established and up-and-coming performers from sketch, standup, and improve genres.

Tuesday - Saturday
3. Central Park Film Festival
If you haven't crossed this activity off your New York City summer bucket list, you've got to. The Central Park Conservancy hosts an annual week of evening film screenings. They'll go on this week rain or shine.
The movies they'll be showing range from Fame and Superman II to The Blues Brothers. They're all 1980s throwbacks. Picnics and blankets are allowed, but glass bottles are forbidden. The gates open at 6:30 p.m. and all movies begin at 8 p.m. Simple enough, right?

Tuesday, August 25th
4. Tour the High Line (Gansevoort Street entrance)
Everyone loves the majestic garden in the sky in Chelsea. Every New Yorker knows The Highline is the dopest spot to convene with friends for picnics, walks, and some beers at Terroir, The Highline's bar.
But who among us knows the story behind this elevated train track's transformation into one of the most gorgeous gardens in the city?

Luckily, The Highline offers free public tours on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m.. These guided walking tours are 75 minutes long and led by High Line Docents, knowledgeable volunteer guides who provide inside information on the park's history and design.
So why not go? Then, stay afterwards for dinner at any of the West 16th Street vendors, who serve up tacos, gelato, ice pops, and more seasonal foods.

5. Kayak at Brooklyn Bridge Park (Pier 2 - Brooklyn Bridge Park)

From 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. on Thursdays, kayaking is offered at one of NYC's most gorgeous and quintessential parks.
The Brooklyn Bridge Park Boathouse is located at the Pier 2 floating dock, and no prior kayaking experience is necessary to participate in this amazing activity. Though, the last boats do head out on the water at 5:45, so arriving early is key.

Plus, it's free. And it's the best way to fight the end of summer.
And here's a thought: bring a blanket and hangout beside the water to catch the stunning sunset over NYC's skyline afterwards.
Saturday, August 29th
6. Peruse the Guggenheim (1071 5th Avenue)
Did you know admittance to the Guggenheim is "pay what you wish" on Saturdays from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m.? Well, it is. Don't you think this should be the week you take advantage of this phenomenal opportunity?
Yeah, we do too.
Their current exhibitions include "Storylines: Contemporary Art at the Guggenheim," "Doris Salcedo," "Kandinsky Gallery," and more.
The Guggenheim is the permanent home of a continuously expanding expanding collection of Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, and Modern and contemporary art. And it's right at your fingertips.

7. Maryland Crab Feast (46-01 5th Street, Long Island City - Queens)
Did you get bit by a crab in the ocean this summer? Well, we have the perfect opportunity for you to exact your revenge. (And even if you didn't get bitten by a crab in the ocean this summer, this is still a cool idea because crabs are delicious.)
On Saturday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Rockaway Brewing Company, attendees of the Maryland Crab Feast will have the opportunity to grub on dozens of steamed Maryland blue crabs, corn of the cob, two pints of Rockaway Brewing Company Beer, and a commemorative pint glass.

8. #StillMiseducated (301 Ten Eyck Street - Brooklyn)
#StillMiseducated is an art exhibit inspired by the music of Lauryn Hill. It's brought to you by The Culture LP and sponsored by spoiled NYC (that's us!).
It will be the most amazing art event of the summer, and it's all going down at Studio 301 in Brooklyn at 2 p.m. Imani Shanklin Roberts will unveil her newest body of paintings. These paintings breathe with the life and inspiration of Roberts' visual examination of the breadth and depth of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
Seriously, when was the last time you listened toThe Miseducation of Lauryn Hill?
It's aged quite well since its release in 1998. Sick beats, thematic elements of social responsibility, and savage inequalities. Yeah, still relevant. The event will include nostalgic tunes, good company, and tunes by DJ Anna Collecta and Saba Jenga.
