Brooklyn's blowing up just like Biggie thought it would. Or, maybe even bigger than Biggie thought it would.
Because, according to CityRealty, Brooklyn is set to get 22,000 new apartments by 2019.
Which means large-scale development in northern and central Brooklyn will more than double over the next two years.
CityRealty publishes market analysis on their website, and they published a study this past Tuesday that found approximately 5,800 new apartments in buildings with more with more than 20 units are projected to be constructed in Brooklyn in 2017.

And if your math isn't rusty, you already know that's more than double this year's estimate of 2,700 new Brooklyn apartment buildings with more than 20 units.
The report also noted that downtown Brooklyn and Williamsburg will be the neighborhoods in which most of the new apartment buildings will be constructed.
29% of the new buildings will be built in Downtown Brooklyn and 20% will be build in Williamsburg. Greenpoint followed up as a close third, and will see 14% of the new units.
"There is a crush of buildings with 20 or more units under construction, many of them rising 10 or more stories and dramatically changing the built environment," noted the report.
So basically, Brooklynites, you can expect a dramatic change to your skyline in the coming years, as well as way more crowded streets and higher rent.
Hey, but at least you'll likely have a few more friends (albeit non-native, transplants) to hang out with... right?
