Remember that time when we said the view from the Empire State Building was overrated?

Well, that prophecy is about to become ten times more true with the installation of an Observation Deck at Hudson Yards, which will top the Empire State Building by 50 feet.

According to the New York Post, the deck will stretch 1,100 feet high, and offer 5,000 square feet of roaming space.

Related Companies, the building's developers, expect several million visitors a year to this new observation deck, which will top the new 92-story skyscraper being built at 30 Hudson Yards. 

When it's completed in 2019, it'll be the fourth-tallest building in the city.

A Related executive said the deck will also have a "thrill-seeking element," for everyone who craves the danger of standing over a thousand feet in the air. An executive also said there will be a restaurant and bar at the deck.

This $20 billion redevelopment project began three years ago, and will eventually comprise 17 million square feet of residential and commercial space in an area west of 10th Avenue from 23rd to 42nd Streets.

One especially cool function of this developing area is that its garbage cans will be replaced by chutes that will send waste shooting off at 45 miles per hour to a central location.
