On August 8th, widely loved and respected Brooklyn rapper Sean Price, of Boot Camp Clik and Heltah Skeltah, passed away in his sleep at the age of 43. Multitudes of fans wasted no time spreading the word.

With mourners throughout the hip hop world, the music community at large, and creative circles worldwide, it's amazing and fitting that New York City graffiti artist heavyweight MeresOne got to work pretty much right away on a Sean P. mural at Bergen St & Kingston Ave in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

While MeresOne is an internationally recognized artist with a serious lineup of awards, he's best known as the CEO of 5Pointz Graffiti Museum. 

 An unfortunate victim of the "development" of Long Island City, Queens, one of the most iconic 5Pointz murals was the enormous Biggie Smalls up on the roof, visible from the 7 train as it rolled through LIC.

Two days after P's passing, MeresOne's mural was up, and Ambrosia for Heads published a heartfelt goodbye to one of hip hop's best. Recently the post was updated to include a video documenting the making of the mural.

Also featured in the video below, provided by Rugged Vision, are Price's wife Bernadette, Illa Ghee, General Steele, Skyzoo and others holding a candle lit vigil and toasting the passed on.

Sean Price is now unfortunately in the number of colossal deceased musical artists adorning the walls of our city, the Valhalla of NYC respect. Other notable murals include Joe Strummer of groundbreaking London punk band The Clash and Ol' Dirty Bastard of Wu Tang Clan.
