The "largest private real estate development in the history of the United States and the largest development in New York City since Rockefeller Center" has finally finished something we can use, kind of. 

Portions of Hudson Yards Park, part of the giant futuristic development going on down on the "New West Side" of Manhattan is now officially open to visitors.

The northern portion of the new 4-acre "green space at West 33rd and 36th Streets between 10th and 11th Avenues" looks great. The rest, for now, is blocked off. 

We say "kind of" because the entire park, managed by The Hudson Yards/Hell’s Kitchen Alliance, is not open yet, and the tables and chairs are still padlocked together. 

But there is a playground, some long sweeping benches, and terraced platforms like a tiny amphitheater ready to go. 

We're looking forward to the whole park opening-- plus the entire project being completed and fulfilling these dreams of revitalizing and transforming the surrounding area into some future-Manhattan.
