In the video below, entitled "The Dangers of Social Media," Coby Persin subverts the typical catfish trope.
Rather than trying to reel in child predators by posing as a teen, Persin poses as a teenage boy by faking a Facebook identity, chatting with teen girls, and fabricating a kidnapping.
When Persin gets each girl to agree to meet up with him, he brings their respective parents to the interaction. The parents are furious, while each girl is horrified and humiliated.
Persin said he hopes after people watch his video, they'll be more cognizant to the realities of teenagers' actions.
"People should know this is what their kids are doing," said Persin. "This is what all kids are doing. They really need to just watch out."
Persin's message is certainly being spread. His video currently has approximately 25 million views.
