Back in June, Zumper released information on the most and least expensive neighborhoods in New York City.

And now, they're coming in hot with some more useful 411. 

The news isn't particularly alarming, but it may make some of us New Yorkers feel better. Which is, that we don't live in San Francisco.

Zumper just released their National Rent Report for August and in a turn of events that surprised no one, we came in at the 2nd most expensive city to rent a one-bedroom apartment in the United States--with a median rent of $3,100.

We were $400 short of San Francisco, which came in as the most expensive city to rent a one-bedroom in the U.S.-- with a median rent of $3,500. That being said, this city's rent prices are still up 3.3% from last year.

Zumper also ranked apartment prices by neighborhood, and found NoMad was the most expensive 'hood to rent in NYC with a $4,630 median price for a one-bedroom. FlatIron and Chelsea followed closely with $4,300 and $4,120 median prices, respectively.

These numbers are super depressing when held up against Los Angeles's most expensive one-bedroom apartments in downtown Santa Monica, which cost a median of $3,240, or Boston's most expensive apartments in Kendall Square, which cost a median of $3,300.

But, these numbers immediately get less depressing when we remember the people that live in those less expensive apartments don't get to live in NYC.

There is also some good news, which is that not living in Manhattan is always an option, and it's way cheaper. The median of one-bedrooms in Brighton Beach is $1,850, and Forest Hills is $1,900. 

So, yeah, we at least have that going for us... right?
