It's about time someone addressed the gaping issue of NYC's lack cat cafe's everywhere. 

Sure, there's Meow Parlour, and even Purina ONE's Cat Camp-- but that's not enough to quench the kitten thirst of New York City-- not by a long shot. 

Speaking of kitten and thirst, there's a new cat cafe called Koneko opening, also on the Lower East Side, and they'll be serving alcohol. 

(As if you didn't drink and hang out with your cats enough, you can now pay to drink and hang out with anonymous cats.)

But it's not just about getting tipsy with Mr. Jinxy, that's just for night time. Koneko will also serve food: Japanese style snacks and pastries. While the eatery and cat area will be separated, you're allowed to bring food into the "Cattery." 

There will also be an outdoor cat garden! 

Founder Benjamin Kalb elaborates, "It's not an enclosed space, but we're building it very specifically to make sure that cats won't be able to climb the walls and hop the fence and also that cats in the neighborhood won't be able to jump in...the top of it is exposed, but we're really making a strong effort to ensure that it's safe." 

Reservations will be $15/hour, and walk-ins will be $10 for 30 minutes. Not bad! If you fall hard for a feline, while you're there, you can of course adopt the little fur ball.
