Ever wondered if it's possible to walk all of New York City? Well, it is. And William Helmreich and Matt Green are doing it.

They're walking every block in the five boroughs. And they probably know more about the city than anyone else around.

Helmreich is a sociologist, and he doesn't think statistical surveys give you an accurate enough idea about a place's heart. So he's walking the city to take the pulse and heartbeat of this city's humans.

Green is bent on uncovering the city's secrets. He cares enough about the city to pay attention to it, and discover its intimate quirks. And that makes him feel like he belongs.

Watch the video below and witness Helmreich and Green meet for the first time, discuss their vastly different approach to their journeys, and question whether New Yorkers truly know their city.
