Yesterday, Governor Cuomo's announcement of LaGuardia Airport's $4 billion renovation was not the only excellent airport-related news that went down. 

Although that, in and of itself, is certainly amazing. 

But just hang on. It gets better.

You know JFK Airport's TWA Flight Center? You know, that iconic masterpiece from way back when that's been vacant for approximately 14 years now? 

For quite some time, there's been a buzz that it'd eventually turn into a hotel, but the when, where, and why of such a transformation had remained unclear. 

That is, until yesterday, when MCR Development reported they'd revamp the historic structure into the TWA Flight Center Hotel.

It'll house 505 hotel rooms, 40,000 square feet of meeting space, six to eight dining establishments, and a 10,000 square-foot observation deck, according to Curbed.

According to CEO Tyler Morse, the development will celebrate and preserve the building, and will return the landmark to its original glory by reopening it to the public. 

 "Whether staying the night or simply exploring, international visitors and New Yorkers alike will be able to experience the magic of the Jet Age in this extraordinary mid-century icon," Morse said.

Seriously, because after an exhausting flight, who really wants to spend the time and money schlepping to a hotel all the way over in Manhattan?  

And now, with the innovation of the TWA Flight Center Hotel, no one will have to.
