Sure, you knew the New York City subway subway was old. But do you know how old?

The answer is as old as hell. And it's not just the architecture and the fancy number signs at each stop that are giving Father Time a run for His money.

The actual infrastructure that runs the subway is upwards of almost one hundred years old. And it's still kickin'. 

In the video below, the MTA explains just how the subway still works under its antiquated system. 

You'll also learn about the advanced safety technology that they're currently installing for the future, which is very cool.
