So this guy owns a New York City taxi. But it's not just any taxi. It's a special taxicab. 

So instead of renting it out to New Yorkers who want rides, he rents it out to people who need a place to sleep, using AirBNB.

Which, we guess, is preferable to dropping a few hundred bucks on a studio apartment in Tribeca.

He's renovated this taxi van into swanky living quarters, flush with a full-sized bed, "comfy pillows and blankets," and it's even parked in Long Island City-- just three minutes from Manhattan.

It only costs $69/night to rent out this living space. Oh, and it even has a portable, wireless air-conditioner.

Airbnb user Jonathan drove the taxi from 2002, transporting thousands of New Yorkers, from "actors to real estate tycoons."

You're not allowed to smoke, cook, or invite guests in the cab. Also, the cab unfortunately has no bathroom or a shower.

Despite all of this, we think this actually looks like a relatively comfortable, affordable place to stay.

It does have wireless internet, which everyone knows is a New York City necessity.

Even though sleeping in a cab is pretty effin' weird, people who've slept in the cab seemed to have enjoyed it. AM New York reported one user named David stating, "The views from the van were absolutely amazing," and that there were "toilets literally across the street."

That being said, AirBNB renter Jonathan did not end his career of renting out mobile vehicles with a cab. He also rents out a camper van in Long Island City for $44/night.

So, if you're in New York City and you've been dying to sleep in a cab, get on it. We predict a huge surge in this cab's demand over the next 48 hours.
