Close your eyes and imagine an airport terminal with all of these goodies... 

A swimming pool. A state-of-the-art lounge with climate-controlled units, complete with overnight bedding. A hospital on premises for general and emergency care. Suites with flat-screen televisions. A jungle gym. And even a massage parlor. 

Now, open your eyes because what was just described to you was an airport terminal which is already under construction at JFK. But here's the catch. It's for animals.

That's right. This terminal is being built exclusively for animals-- and only animals.

The $48 million, almost 200,000-square-foot facility, named the Ark at JFK Airport, has been dubbed by developer Racebrook Capital as the "world's only privately owned animal terminal and USDA-approved, full-service, 24-hour, airport quarantine facility for import and export of horses, pets, birds and livestock."

"The animal terminal [where construction is already will set new international airport standards for comprehensive veterinary, kenneling and quarantine services," Ark founder and Racebrook Chairman John J. Cuticelli Jr. said in a statement.
