So back in 2006, during a routine inspection, city workers discovered a bomb shelter inside the Brooklyn Bridge, packed to the britches with crackers, blankets, and sealed drums of water.
It's great that all those New Yorkers of the 1950s and '60s hooked us up with a plan B-- you know, in case mutually-assured destruction does not, in fact, outlast the death of the sun.
But to all the Cold War era folks who built this bomb shelter: were you planning on ever telling us about this amazing lil' secret? Or were you planning to survive impending nuclear war all on your own?
