Well, good news and bad news, New York City.

For those of you deeply and emotionally invested in the #SaveNYC campaign, this news will be particularly vexing.

According to DNAinfo, 7-Eleven will introduce two new locations in the Financial District this month. The planned locations are just a few blocks apart, at 111 Fulton Street and 111 John Street.

7-Eleven currently has 32 locations in Manhattan, but they plan to have 100 within the next five years.

They'll slide perfectly into place next to the other chains like Red Mango, Chipotle, Dunkin' Donuts, and Starbucks, all of which are unfortunately doing a job of systematically weeding out smaller, privately-owned businesses.

Anti-chain store activists in the East Village are currently imploring New Yorkers to boycott the new 7-Elevens.

It's kind of hard to boycott them, though, when their prices are particularly hard to beat. A gallon of milk at 7-Eleven is $1.99, while the same gallon costs $3.50 at Café Lafayette, according to the Daily News.

It's also hard to boycott 7-Eleven when they're giving out free Slurpees to celebrate July 11th.

Every July 7th (7/11, if you didn't notice) for the past 13 years, 7-Eleven has given out free, delicious, refreshing slurpees. And tomorrow is no exception. Free small drinks will be available tomorrow at 7-Eleven from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. while supplies last.

So, if you're looking for something refreshing and gratis to enjoy while tomorrow's heat climbs into the high 80s, stop by one of 7-Eleven's 32 locations, and slurp down a free slurpee on the mega chain.

All their classic flavors will be available: Coca-Cola, Dr. Pepper, blue ice, and Sour Patch watermelon.

Free drinks are great and all, but remember at what cost all of this became free in the first place.

So, yeah, 7-Eleven; it sucks that you're edging out local businesses, but it rocks that you're giving out free slurpees. Way to keep us all on the fence.
