If you recall, getting to Staten Island is free and the process of getting there includes a gorgeous boat ride across the upper bay of the New York Harbor.

Everyone loves boat rides. The only thing everyone loves more than boat rides are free boat rides, right?

There are already plenty of reasons to visit Staten Island: The River Dock Cafe, The Staten Island Zoo, and the Staten Island Yankees.

And now an already extremely appealing free boat ride is about to become more appealing-- with the innovation of The New York Wheel.

This enormous ferris wheel is set to be 630-feet-tall, which will render it one of the world's largest. It's the latest in innovations to help attract tourists to Staten Island.

According to The New York Times, it's set to open in approximately just two years. Workers have already begun laying the foundation, and when it opens it will carry as many as 1,440 riders and will be visible from the Manhattan side of New York harbor.

New York officials hope when tourists spot the wheel from the Manhattan side of the Ferry, it'll entice them to take the ride.

In our humble opinion, we predict it'll become one of New York City's hottest date locations. Like ever.
